This was a very charming and hospitable hotel. It was quaint and cozy. The lobby area by the fireplace was very inviting. The rooms were clean and spacious. The continental breakfast was varied with enough to start our day with. Love that candy closet! Ice cream treats were a nice touch as well. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

The building itself is just cool. The rooms are nice and very clean. It’s historical and modern with a touch of whimsy. Through the lobby are portraits of famous George’s. All the the rooms have names and also feature portraits of famous people with that name. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was awesome and there was a complimentary candy bar. Overall would totally stay again if I were in that area. It is located a few minutes away from downtown so we ubered because parking is not easy.

Trip for 2 for overnight at The George to visit family in the area. Very comfortable and cozy accommodations. Small boutique hotel that was not fully occupied during our stay made us feel like we had the place to ourselves. Relaxing communal sitting room with fireplace. Comfortable bed. European breakfast. Would stay again.

The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Wine in the evening in the library was relaxing and afforded time to chat and meet new people while waiting for my daughter to arrive. Walkable dining options, the candy closet, the ice cream fridge and extended breakfast hours (7-11) all created more of a visit feel than a standard stay.

My wife and I loved this place and we will definitely be staying there again anytime we come back to NJ. We used to live in Bloomfield NJ but now we live in Southern California, and I had to get a place for a work trip. We stayed here one night in “Steve” and one night later we came back and stayed in “Duke,” which was our favorite of the two. Super clean, upscale, and the free wine at 5pm was a nice treat. Parking was easy, and we highly recommend this spot.

This is our second time staying at The George. We felt welcomed and safe. We LOVED it the first time so, of course, we had to make another visit. Unfortunately, this trip wasn't the same. Our bathroom smelled wet and as if it wasn't cleaned properly. Some of the towels had a brown stain and a peculiar smell.

Can’t wait to go back! My husband and I went to WWE Summer Slam & needed a nice hotel away from Newark! This hotel was the best- staff was so helpful and sweet and welcoming. We stayed in the Jen room and it was so comfortable, and homey!! We loved the candy closet, the library room, the gym & the breakfast service!

Can’t wait to go back We have stayed at The George many times and it’s always a pleasure. Every room is unique. The included breakfast is great. They have a social hour each night with wine in the library. The neighborhood is perfect for walking and close to downtown.

Solid 5 stars! Loved the breakfast. Fresh bagels and other healthy options available. Coffee and expresso options included. Bed was solid and pillows luxurious. Overall very nice. Loved the extra touches put in. Highly recommend this hotel!
