Is the Falls Motel a graded 4 property, probably not, more like a 3.5, but there were a few little things I liked that made me bumped it up a category. It is located about 2 miles south of Watkins Glen just as you are entering Montour Falls. It has only about 30 units and sits on a hill a block or two from downtown Montour Falls. It is about 100 yards or so from the famous and beautiful Shequaga Falls, that is used as the opening scene on Hallmark Mystery movies. I liked that we pulled our car up to your room number, a feature I have always liked remembering all the times in the 1960's and 1970's we did traveling a as kid with my family. The room was very clean, fully furnished and the beds were comfortable. They had a grab and go breakfast that was nice with Otis Spunkmeyer muffins, Hostess pastries, bottled juices, coffee and tea. They also had very fresh fruit, bananas and apples the 2 days we were there. It was just enough to get you on the road without spending an extra $25 that you could use towards lunch. The 4 staff members we came into contact with during our stay were all very friendly and helpful. The Falls Motel was probably built in the 1990's, and the rooms aren't fancy, it doesn't have a pool, restaurant or bar but it was clean, reasonably priced and for whatever reasons I liked it and would stay here again versus some of the other higher priced lodgings in the area.

It was OK for an overnight stay. Close to town, good location… many areas of interest nearby to do and visit. It was clean, however, it could use some updating & remodeling. Friendly owners. The breakfast offered was nice & easy to grab and hit the road.

I would definitely recommend staying here. It was clean, quiet and very close to Watkins Glen and Seneca lake. The only thing that could have been better was the pillows were worn and the room was a little bright in the morning. Other than that no complaints :)

Although the front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, this Motel was dirty and very smelly. We checked the room before we paid and at first glance everything looked acceptable, but unfortunately we didn't check close enough. There were cob webs and spiders in every corner, dead bug remnants everywhere dirt and grime on many surfaces. Walls and doors were dirty and there was a dirt ring around the tub. The musty smell was terrible. Not sure how all the other reviews say this was a clean place?

The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a short drive to Watkins Glen State Park and within walking distance to Shequaga Falls. The service was excellent. I would recommend staying here. It was a nice family-run motel.

My husband and I had an enjoyable stay at The Falls. Mike was very helpful with places to see (Taugannock Falls!!) and restaurant suggestions. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I liked having 2 chairs to relax in, and the jacuzzi tub was wonderful after a day of hiking. We appreciated the continental breakfast, and my husband says it was the best coffee !!!! When we ran into a glitch with our reservation Mike went out of his way to accomodate us. We definitely recommend The Falls for your stay in Watkins Glen. Close to everything except the noiseof the busy downtown.

This wasn’t the best place to stay, the room was ok but could have used a good thorough cleaning and all the dust behind the bed irritated my allergies. We were given the wrong key by mistake and went into someone’s room which was creepy, it was a mistake but made us feel not the safest staying there for the night. The bed was comfortable which was a plus, but I wouldn’t stay again.

This motel is simple, convenient and very comfortable. The window opens which was nice since it was a pleasant autumn evening. It was quiet and a great location for visiting nearby Watkins Glen. The coffee offered in the office was very good. They also had orange juice and muffins. A good choice at a reasonable price.

Perfect location - it’s a quick, easy drive into Watkins Glen, and you can also drive or walk into town to see the waterfall and get a bite to eat. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. Had a king whirlpool room which was perfect after a long day of hiking and walking around. Recommend it here and will stay again when back in the area.

The Falls Motel is a clean, no frills, convenient place to stay while you’re visiting the Finger Lakes. We called to book and easily made a reservation with the owner Mike. We arrived early and were able to checkin and get settled before visiting some wineries. The office had a supply of maps and guides of local attractions and Mike gave us some good tips for dinner. The room was spacious and clean. We stayed in a king whirlpool room. Our little one was with us and there was plenty of space to set up his travel crib beside the bed. A continental breakfast was available in the lobby each day and it was great to chat with the other guests (maybe they just wanted to chat with the little one ;) ). We walked to the falls, walked to grab dinner in Montour Falls and drove into Watkins Glen easily from the Falls Motel. It was a great, central but quiet location.
