戰神廣場酒店(Hôtel Champ-De-Mars)

Just checked into Hotel Du Champ De Mars, One of Rick Steves “Top Choice”recommendations in Paris. Rick claimed the rooms were adorable and lovingly kept. To our misfortune what we found was an old saggy bed, stained carpets, flooded bathroom, from the shower. No apology from front desk just told that they were sold out tonight and maybe they can change rooms tomorrow. We use Rick’s recommendations a lot and I’m afraid he missed the boat on this UDATE: although the owner changed our room to an updated room the next day and offered us a ”free breakfast” they insisted on charging us for the first night. For me is is not about the money, it is about having our first night in Paris ruined. No apology, they kept claiming it was one of their best rooms, which was obviously a lie. The room they switched us to had a major upgrade and was completely different although the same floor plan. The night manager was extremely rude to Rachel when she went down to the desk the first night to see if she could get him to charge our phone. Nous ne sommes pas des gens très difficiles pour nos hôtels, étant de bons voyageurs on se contente de peu sachant qu on ne passe pas vraiment de temps dans la chambre outre que pour dormir. Nous étions conscients de payer très très peu pour une chambre dans ce secteur de la Ville. Mais sincèrement, l hôtel est très très sale, désuet et n’a pas été entretenu. Si ce n était que ça, je ne serai pas venu faire de commentaire ici… L’air climatisé était cassee sur une étage, ils devaient faire 40degres Celsius dans la chambre, pas de dédommagement possible. Les murs sont de papiers, les couvres lits semblent jamais avoir été lavés, il y a des coulisses jaunes sur les murs . C est très bruyant. On a attendu de dégriser et nous sommes parti . Éviter cette place, payer un surplus dans un autre hôtel ou déplacer vous de secteur.
