It was a lovely experience. The staff are all lovely and the estate is breathtaking.

Husband took me away for a weekend (2 night stay) at the very relaxing Spicers Clovelly Estate. The Atmosphere along with the wine and all the staff were amazing and definitely a memorable experience. We enjoyed the fire pit with a serving of petite fours instead of a birthday cake.

Tres tres fantastique! Je l’adore. This was amazing- the staff are wonderful, the experience was fantastic- the room was so nice - so ‘frenchie’ right how I like it. The food was also 5 star. I could not fault Spices.

The review is short, simply due to words can't describe properly, the experience. Don't balk; cease delaying a visit - it's a MUST attend. Comfort, class, professional attentive staff, food & drink to never forget, wound together on one amazing property. We are still amazed by it days later. Extremely highly recommended.

We booked here for my wife's birthday, Dinner , bed and breakfast. We arranged sitters(2), time off work and everything that needs to be sorted for a mid week get away. It's a lot of planning. On the morning of her birthday Spicers rang to tell me the restaurant would be closed. This is the reason we chose this venue. I later found it it was because they had staff sick. Seriously, this is a 5 star venue with an awarded restaurant, not some dingy back lane snack bar. Have back up or don't operate. We were offered a Picnic basket. for dinner. You have to be kidding!! I tried to cancel , but had booked through Qantas. I spent 15 min before I hung up. You can appreciate the stress all because someone is useless at running a restaurant . In the end we booked the following night. now paying double for sitters, and stayed at a Spicers venue in Brisbane. We told them of our issues and frankly they did not care at all. It was at best average. Again poor staff who don't try to repair any damage. No upgrades were offered. So in the 1 week , we dealt with 2 Spicers venues and the service throughout is appalling. Clearly management, lead by Scroo Turner are bent of profit and not service. They ruined my wife's birthday. caused so much stress and costs for sitters. We used to go to The Long Apron about 5 times a year. NEVER AGAIN. Their staff don't care. Frankly if they cant offer service even as simple as cancelling the booking without 20 min waiting for Qantas then they shouldn't offer it. Stay away from Spicers.

I had read many of the reviews prior to us going for a milestone wedding anniversary, so was expecting something sensational. However, our stay of two nights was a mixed bag, ranging from outstanding to disappointing. Firstly, the staff in the restaurant were wonderful. Friendly, knowledgeable, courteous and accommodating. The food was very good, although the Peachester lamb was weird. However, the Peachester lamb sausage I had for breakfast was excellent. Also, to run out of the fish of the day was disappointing. Regarding the accommodation: the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was a good size, but.... . Having previously managed accommodation facilities comprising hundreds of beds, I have a keen eye for noticing the condition and cleanliness of accommodation. Our room failed in this regard. The floor needed vacuuming, the toilet seat was broken, the bathroom grouting needed attention, the shower rose came loose and pest control is needed. I would have thought a facility such as this would have a planned maintenance and painting schedule. There was a nice little garden area adjacent to the shower, with beautiful peace lilies growing. However, the ambience of the garden was totally spoilt because of piles of dead leaves. The room we were in did not lend itself to being quiet. We could hear plumbing noises late at night and early morning. We did not get to see any of the gardens as it rained pretty much the whole time we were there. As I mentioned at the beginning, the saving grace was the staff - among the best I have encountered. We are pleased we went, but doubt we would go again.

My wife and i recently had our first wedding anniversary at Spicers Clovelly Estate, and we had such an amazing time. It was extremely relaxing, the rooms were fantastic, extremely comfortable with a very cozy vibe. It did rain heavily throughout the weekend while we were there, and to be honest we think it made the place even more beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful, which made the stay even better. I could not highly recommend the restaurant enough, food and wine were amazing and made it hard to leave. All round an amazing weekend away, and look forward to going back.

Underwhelming experience, felt like a nice B&B actually. For the price, it didn’t feel like the accommodation was value for money. Our room(Room 1) was above the restaurant, which was a bit noisy & didn’t feel luxurious at all, the only entry up the stairs was via the restaurant & past the kitchen. The grounds themselves are gorgeous, can’t fault the location, just the value. The breakfast was really good as well. We’ve stayed at Spicers Potts Point as well & felt the same thing- not lux, just a nice B&B. You want to feel wowed by a Spicers!

Spicers for the win A wonderful stay at Spicers. Beautiful property, with professional staff who genuinely seemed happy working there and were superb in looking after us. Great food at the Long Apron, short stroll to town and wonderful scenery meant we had a peaceful and enjoyable stay.
