My husband and I have just had alovely stay at the Penninsular. Many thanks to staff and manager Scott in going just that extra to please our stay. Great accommodation overlooking the ocean, walking distance to top restaurants. No need to use ones car, it's all about relaxing for all the family. Fantastic facilities. The Penninsular is up there with the best at Mooloolaba on the esplanade, 10 out of 10. Many thanks. Keith and Brenda
The apartment is very spacious and with a great view!! The only thing that was bothersome were the beds. They are very thin and hard. So every morning our backs were killing us. But to be honest it was not a deal breaker. We were super close to the beach, shops, and many restaurants!
We arrived after hours having driven in a hire car from Brisbane Airport in the pouring rain. I’d already advised them of our late arrival and had all the necessary instructions. The entry code didn’t work, so I followed the instructions on the keypad. Within seconds someone came online and told me how to get in. Our 2 bed ocean view apartment was fabulous and the supplies of tea and coffee were very welcome. The front desk staff were really friendly and very helpful giving us details of places to eat, the local supermarket, etc. The underground car park is great too. The only downside was the weather, the temperature wasn’t bad but it rained most days, however it was winter…… The next time we are in Mooloolaba we will definitely stay at Oceans.
The staff at Windward Apartments are super helpful. Next time we stay we will not book the 1 bedroom Garden apartment; just not enough sunshine on the sitting area in July. A 1 bedroom apartment with a coastal outlook would be much better next time around.
Our one bedroom apartment is extremely clean and modern. Has absolutely everything you need from excellent kitchen appliances to lovely big toiletries and labels so you can easily read the different products while in the shower. Great laundry in room which I always use. The apartment does have linen changed once in a 7 night stay. Fabulous, obliging management and reception staff. We have already rebooked for next year but an ocean view next time. The location is brilliant. Walking distance to beach, supermarkets, wine store, restaurants, wharf area, seafood restaurants and very easy to get around on buses if you don’t have a car. Caloundra, Noosa, Eumundi, Montville, Maroochydore and all along the cost can be accessed by the local buses. Highly recommend.
Hay was going to write this as the review for the hotel – is it to harsh or am I missing something If you were to rate this place based on location it is five star for sure. I wish everything else had the same rating. This place is well positioned on the promenade, close to shops, places to eat and across the road from the beach. However, the building is outdated, the singular lift is old and if you have phobia of elevators do not use it, it bounces and they have had to put a sign up not to bounce or jump otherwise it will stop. The building operates a garbage shoot which is great in concept, however it was clogged up and the smell was putrid, it was so bad we felt sick every time we waited for the elevator and it began to come into the apartment. We advised the team a couple of times over the week, but nothing had changed. The rooms were ok, mattress quite hard and uncomfortable but the rest of the three bedroom apartment was spacious.
The guest rooms here rate no more than 3-star. While fairly clean and with good beds and fair but small ensuite, they need new carpets and just a bit of care around the edges. Our room was quiet, on the upper level. A bit of money spent on the rooms would lift them to a higher level. Room servicing was good. We booked direct. They are a reasonable price for this region. We were given drink vouchers and breakfast pack each day, and discounted meals in the adjoining hotel, which we enjoyed immensely. The guestrooms are small, but we used the large Kawana Hotel and its marina outlook as our lounge. This made our experience better.
What a fantastic area and the staff are so great and friendly. I’m sure they have some horror stories of some guests. Penthouse 59 is perfect for a solo getaway and at not much extra in price , it’s a safe area and the building has front and rear access with restaurants and shops on both sides. Building was clean and managers friendly and helpful if your the same. I work in service and treat people well and you will be treated the same. Unreasonable people stay home don’t ruin others holidays.
I stayed 3 nights. Yes, it had ocean views but the main road out front was noisy and so were my neighbours. The bed was comfortable. The kitchen was well- supplied with crockery and cutlery, but the dish sponge had old food caked on it (and was half of a full dish sponge someone had cut in half 🙄). The kitchen ceiling looked like there had been a fire at some point and the black marks had been hastily painted over. Two bath towels and a bath mat were supplied and that was all - no hand towels or face washers. The bathroom was basic and tired, like the rest of the apartment, but the shower was good. The air con worked. The wall clock that had no battery in it so the hands were permanently stuck on 1.40 said it all, really.
