We arrived at the hotel and were warmly greeted by the front desk staff. Since the new wing was fully occupied by a marching team for the Independence Day event, we were offered an alternative room on the 2nd floor. We asked if a balcony was possible—at first we were told none were available, but later the receptionist kindly gave us one. This was much appreciated, as we had just finished an exhausting 9-hour drive from West Java. We also reminded the staff that our booking was for three people. They later sent an extra bed, but unfortunately it was very hard and uncomfortable. The room itself was quite disappointing. It felt damp and poorly ventilated, with a musty smell, peeling walls, a shower that barely produced any water, and even a damaged door lock. The overall condition clearly showed that the room needed major maintenance. Since we arrived late and were too tired, we decided not to request a room change. The next morning, we explored the resort area. Sadly, it didn’t feel well maintained either—dried leaves scattered around and the swimming pool was unappealing to use. On the positive side, the staff continued to be very pleasant and welcoming. One kind lady even shared some local Independence Day desserts with me, which was a thoughtful gesture, especially since breakfast was not included despite the room rate. Overall, while the staff were genuinely friendly and hospitable, the facilities and room conditions were far below expectations. Unfortunately, it did not feel worth the rate we paid.
