We were lucky enough to experience the Adults Only Waitui Beach Club Package which gave us a little bit more luxury of being pampered at the Spa and entry into the more sophisticated Journal Lounge. At the lounge we had daily complimentary high tea which was delightful, Bubbly with Breakfast and delicious complimentary sunset cocktails or Gin and Tonic with a beer for Hubby! The staff in the Executive Lounge went above and beyond with their service, in particular Payal who had such grace and Professionalism, Kara with her infectious laugh and Agnes who was a delight with her quiet demeanor. Mili, Loyalty Supervisor, thank you for checking with us that our stay was meeting our expectation (which it was) and giving us an insight on how the resort was travelling since Covid. Waitui Beach Club Grill...you cook an excellent steak and your staff's recommendation of the fish curry was spot on considering I hadn't tasted one before. Thank you to your staff who always made us feel welcome, especially Vau who always remembered our names throughout our stay! A big thank you to Claire too for indulging me with some French conversation which I remembered from my school days! Finally, thank you to Solo for your professionalism and friendly nature in both checking us in and out. We ran out of paper to note down more staff but please note you are all exceptional too. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!
First and foremost before I get into my review we had money stolen at this property. The only time our money was not in a safe was the night we checked in when we dropped our bags off at the room to go check out the fire show. During this time a bottle of champagne was delivered to our room. $400 dollars was stollen out of my wife’s wallet. I immediately searched it on trip advisor and found multiple other reviews of money stolen at this resort. We travel around 60 days a year and have never had this issue. We generally stay in Hyatt properties but decided to give Marriott a try as we have reached Globalist status with Hyatt and are looking for another program to earn hotel status with. Due to the other reviews where money was stolen and no action being taken we did not report it. We chose to enjoy our stay and not waste time over $400. The money is not the issue the issue is a thief coming into our room. My wife stated had she been alone or on a girls trip she would have immediately checked out as she wouldn’t have felt safe. On to the review The Good Staff is very friendly (Looking past the one bad apple who stole our money) Spa Staff was great. We really enjoyed are massages. Spa prices are good for a resort. We ate at all of the restaurants and overall the food was pretty good. Really for us the highlight of the resort was the spa and the friendly staff. The Bad Our 1st night we had dinner at the Fish House. The food was great but when I used the restroom there was a kitchen worker in there. He turned the water on dipped his hands in and walked out. I had already ate my food or else I would have left it. Throughout our stay I witnessed multiple staff not wash their hands. This is a pet peeve of mine and I always watch for it. I understand other countries are not as strict on hygiene but the hotel needs to educate their staff better. I have traveled to many countries and have never witnessed such bad hand washing behavior at a resort. Marriott please educate your staff. You would think with a guest at one of the many sinks washing their hands they would not walk right past them and out the door. Overall this is one of the many places we have decided to stay on our honeymoon and we still enjoyed our time here. We chose to not let stolen money ruin our stay. That being said I would not recommend this resort due to its history of stolen money. If not for the theft and lack of proper hand washing I would have rated this resort 3.5/5 The friendly staff and the spa are its strong points. Respectfully, Tony
10/10 on absolutely everything to do with Matamanoa! The staff are what makes Matamanoa so special - they are kind, funny and always willing to help with anything. We stayed in a beach front pool bure and it was stunning - the outdoor sun bed and plunge pool were very nice! Matamanoa itself sits on a stunning atoll, and the snorkelling directly out from the beach was glorious. Deep Blue diving and water sports offered an amazing array of activities, we really recommend the snorkel safari, guided snorkelling and visit to Castaway Island. The food was delcious! Was so very hard to leave Matamanoa, but we will absolutely visit again. The most phenomenal place for a honeymoon ever. Thank you Matamanoa!
訪訪客We had a great stay. Staff was friendly and accomodating to our needs including carrying out heavy luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs. They even allowed our visitors in which I find very rare. They also carried our food up to our balcony which was great. We had the Sunset suite at the very top - awesome view! Our room was nice and clean, super nice air con in the room and lounge area. Really nice kitchen area with a massive new fridge. Very convenient with the supermarket up the road and beachfront to chill. The ocean was sooo nice and hot to swim in. Downfall: Some of the levels smell like damp, wet carpet and was really bad . Some of our dishes were so dirty and their were cockroaches in the toaster, microwave and jug. Would be great to have a volley ball net on the beach and some activities on offer for guests such as horse riding & snorkelling etc. Also some entertainment would be great as the music next door was the only entertainment we got but sometimes it was far too loud that we couldn’t sleep. There was no fire show or kava ceremony and we were looking forward to that! The food at the ghost ship bar was really good especially the pizza and curry dishes! Be good if reception could help guests find the best taxi prices as some Of the locals that stand on the road really take advantage of travellers and charge you the world. We did have a great stay in the end! I would recommend this if you want to stay near town, the airport and want to experience outside of Denarau. Denarau did get boring for me sometimes so I liked this experience this time around.
訪訪客Beautiful resort with beautiful staff. Special mention to Sam, Temo, Pate, Sera and Kesa just to name a few. Came to Fiji for our first time and it was nearly a disaster after our originally booked resort was very poor. Luckily the Double Tree had room for us and they made us feel special with the greeting of “Welcome Home”. It was my partners 50th on this stay and the staff made it special with beachfront dining in a cabana with an amazing meal. Food was excellent throughout Resort was immaculately clean Our Bure was spacious and comfortable and great shower. Smiling and courteous staff everywhere in every department. On site shopping Activities to keep everyone occupied Really can’t fault this great resort and I wish we had booked here from the start. Vinaka to all for making the holiday a great and memorable one. Alan and Emily
訪訪客It is a budget place to stay. The room with shower, warm/cold water has aircondition, is basic but the price/value for Fiji is good. Around 30 Euro for a double room. Nothing fancy but o.k. for short time. Pretty clean, bedsheets o.k. Can be a little louder when room to street, but o.k. Restaurants an shopping close by. Close to Beach Bar, Wailoaloa beach, other side of road. Not as on picture, a bit wear, need some update. Very easy, friendly checkin. There is Busstop to Nadi close by, 1,5 FJD. Will go there again.
訪訪客My husband and I stayed at Nalagi Hotel for 1 night as we had an early flight out and it was close to the airport and relatively cheap. Our room was spacious and clean with a small balcony. We ate at the rooftop bar which has spectacular views and a big swimming pool. Very comfortable transit hotel if you want to be close to the airport when coming from other tourist areas. (Nadi not a tourist destination for us). The concierge called a taxi for us in the morning and it cost $20FJD to the airport.
