賽威林旅舍酒廊酒店(Severine Cottages and Lounge Ltd)

Absolutely lovely, spacious wooden cabins with a country Western theme, nestled in the beautiful Karen neighborhood! We loved it so much that we went back when our travel plans changed, and the staff greeted us like family and friends. The food is delicious, landscaping is gorgeous, cabins are cozy, and staff are amazing hosts. Highly recommend for a peaceful escape from the busy city!

This was such an oasis in the busy city. You enter what feels like a walled, safe, green space. The staff was very attentive and focused on you getting what you wanted. It was nice to have a restaurant on the property. We enjoyed dinner outside as well as a breakfast buffet inside. The cottages were clean and comfortable. My wife loved taking a bath in the tub. Next time we are in Nairobi, we will definitely return here.

When I arrived at Severine cottages I’d already been in Kenya for 4 weeks staying at a variety of places, some straight forward, some high end and the odd airbnb. This was the most underwhelming unfortunately and if we’d paid full price not value for money. We luckily had a discount for a last minute booking. If 6 people were staying in one of the self catering cottages I’ve no idea how they would have cooked in the tiny kitchens. (With limited utensils). Or where they would have sat to eat anything. Breakfast included in the main lounge was eggs and toast. Didn’t seem to be any other options. And I advise not to order a glass of wine from the bar. My first one turned up looking like a dark brown beer and was sweet not dry. I had asked for Chardonnay (per the menu). I asked to swap for another which was an off Chenin. Bottle must have been open for weeks. Upside, it’s in a nice safe posh area, walkable to the giraffe sanctuary. Staff are sweet, try hard but need training. Im genuinely surprised at other glowing reviews of this place but each to their own.

A very quiet and pleasant place ideally located in Karen area of Nairobi (a bit difficult to find even for our taxi driver!). We had a cottage for 6 people which was so nice and cosy, all made of wood ! The restaurant is ok for one night, the personnel was really very nice. They provided us with a driver for a full-day visit of Nairobi for a tourist price that could have been more fair but the driver was really ok. We recommend the place

We enjoyed every bit of Severine. The cottages are amazing. A five star hide-away indeed! we were celebrating my wifes's birthday and the staff made it so special by setting up amazing decor and dinner for us with our daughter. We really had so much fun. Herman the manager is so friendly. Millie too. They made our stay unforgettable.

We stayed at Severine Cottages after a 6 day Kenyan safari and it was the perfect place to wind down after the game drives and travel across the country. First of all the staff were just amazing, Geoffrey and Millicent were so welcoming and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The location is wonderful, in the leafy district of Karen, the property is secure and we felt safe the entire time. The best attractions are very close by like the David Sheldrick elephant orphanage and the Giraffe Centre. We stayed on a half board basis and the food was delicious and plentiful with enough variety to cater for most tastes. The cabin we stayed in was beautifully finished and set in amongst the well cared for gardens in the property. Each one is nicely secluded so you can have some privacy. The bed was super comfortable and the spacious bathroom was well maintained with a huge bath and and an amazing free-standing shower with all the bells and whistles! We took the option of taking a vehicle with a driver (Kevin) for the day which was brilliant as he took us to all the attractions we wanted to visit and in the evening for our reservation at the famous carnivore restaurant. You can’t go wrong with this place if you’re looking for a comfortable stay in Nairobi at a highly reasonable price. It’ll be our go-to whenever we’re back.
