The bed was comfortable and the sheets clean. The rest of the room left a lot to be desired. The walls were marked. The bathroom was frankly disgusting. The taps were corroded the sink damaged, the shower, rusted and dribbled. The window by the shower was filthy. The drain by the toilet made me feel sick. The staff at the hotel were very nice. I decided to leave by the next morning and just as I was about to say so I was asked to move rooms as there was emergency maintenance required in the room I was in. By that time I was past the point of caring. It may be very central to Delhi, but it is jaded faded and not up to standard.

The place feels like some shady hotel in paharganj. Local IDs of Delhi are not permissible. The interior design is outdated. The view from the balcony is an eye sore; there was garbage below the balcony view. The complementary buffet was pathetic and the restaurant manager denied serving fresh dish. I'll never book this again. It maligned our entire Christmas experience.

The place is extremely badly maintained. The staff are unhelpful and I different. They don't even keep water in the rooms and the breakfascis very basic. And no toilet paper in the bathroom. All bathroom fittings were corroded and green in colour. It is the worst place I have ever stayed in.

Did a direct booking at YMCA Tourist Hostel from Sep 30 to Oct 3. A family of 4. We arrived by 2:30 pm. Check in took long and then we were given a room, 156. A room that doesn't guarantee your safety. All walls and ceiling were peeling off. Door was jammed and intercom didn't work. The house keeping has to push from outside and I had to pull from inside to open. I wanted to cancel and exit. I was given another room 161, this was better. The walls didn't peel off, but again, intercom wasn't working, and bathroom didn't have a lock. The roof at the bathroom was shedding plaster and water wouldn't drain properly. I had told that I had an early train to Agra and asked for breakfast to be packed by 6 am. They promised so. Next morning when checked they were still confused if they should give or not as the room wasn't updated in their records. As it was getting late, I had to rush without breakfast. Went to Agra and took breakfast there. Their daily menu is again so limited, it's just bread, poha or puri, omelet, boiled egg, coffee and tea. House Keeping staff were helpful. That's the only plus other than the location. Their in house travel desk charged Rs 2500 for Delhi sightseeing trip and the driver was very unwilling to take was to Qutub Minar. All through he was complaining of traffic. I checked with travel desk for the cost of Airport drop and they said it's Rs 1200. I booked Ola and it costed me just about Rs 300. If there's an option, better avoid this place until they renovate. They take room payment upfront. If you want to stay, check the rooms and then pay. They charged around 5500 for family of 4 whereas Park Inn Radisson IP extension quoted 7000. Not a big difference when you look at the quality and service that Radisson would offer.

Chose this based on the experience with YMCA London & Singapore but regreted for my decision. Stayed in 2 different rooms. They seriously need renovation and thourough cleaning. Unclean room, dusty window panes, rusted-worn out bathroom fittings, cobweb in bathroom, discarded furniture in the room, no provision for making tea/coffee inside room. The only positive factor was the location of the hostel in the heart of the city.

The great location is the only positive aspect of this place. Everything has to be paid in advance, with no scope for extension. Not sure, if they had a bad experience with their guests or if they are too concerned about payment. They function like ordinary government guest houses with no service concept. Whatever is available or kept or functioning, a guest has to manage within that. However, the servers, waiters, room service, watchman ... they all expect tips and often go to the extent of demanding it. No care for the guests, and the management and staff care little about it.
