艾倫酒店(The Allen Hotel)

We checked in at midnight, when we arrived there was no one there and we stayed outside for 20 minutes until the receptionist arrived from outside. They only cleaned the room once during our 5 day stay (they said they were understaffed and busy). The location was good, but I won’t stay in this hotel again.

Beautiful property, but terrible room design. TV is to the far upper left of the king bed. Would be nice to lie in bed and watch TV. Manager offered a room change mid-stay and I called down to front desk to accept the offer after checking with my roommate. Then on the day we were to change rooms, they claimed that I didn’t do something the right way. Very off putting to be blamed for their miscommunication. Day 2 we requested housekeeping service. Upon returning to the room, bed was made but no towels at all in bathroom. Instead, there was a pile of wet towels on my suitcase that seeped through wetting all of my underwear. Day 3, I did not request housekeeping, but they serviced anyway. Manager and Staff were very friendly, they just dropped the ball a few times.

While the staff was kind and helpful, the hotel itself was worn. The wallpaper was peeling in my room, the curtains and carpet were stained. It was loud! Both street noise and the slamming of room doors and conversations could be heard with exceptional clarity. In no way was this a four star, $400+ a night experience. There are better places on the lower East Side. Stay there!

We received a warm and friendly welcome from Genesis at the front desk. We liked the ambience and decor of the tastefully decorated lobby and room, very comfortable bed, and cleanliness. The photos on the website present an accurate image of the hotel. The location is lively and convenient, close to the subway, restaurants, and the Tenement Museum.

This was quite a gem! Great service from the front desk team. The room was spacious and while a bit old school, old school in a fun but clean way. Come on-- there are gold fixtures in the bathroom! Loved my stay and loved being at the intersection of so many different and fun neighborhoods!

Amazing hotel if you’re on the LES!!! The rooftop has incredible views and great view of Empire State Building. Even being right on the street, it wasn’t too loud. Gym, steam room, saunas definitely would stay here again

If I may call 'The Allen' a mid-range or discount property, I think it's and super convenient for travellers who take the CHINATOWN BUS. Staff was very kind, attentive, helpful at this no-frills hotel.

Fine hotel, nothing special. The hotel smelled like stale smoke to me, but the friendly staff said it had never been a smoking hotel. The surrounding area has some sketchy blocks, but also some great little bars.

Excellent hotel with old school class. We had a balcony room and the view was great. The only complaint is that the mattress was very firm but my boyfriend loved it so that’s a matter of preference. The staff was so kind and the location was great.
