If you have to stay overnight in the financial district, this is one of the cheaper options, and it’s a good hotel. No issues finding the place or checking in, although the scaffolding around does obscure it a bit. They likely can’t do anything about the neighborhood; unhoused people sleeping on the streets, drunk people peeing and vomiting in the gutters, etc. That’s city life (at least until we develop the political will to guarantee housing as a right for all).
The room was nice, as advertised, with a working fridge and thermostat. The air is loud, I actually wore earplugs to sleep! Both sink taps were set to hot, which was a bit odd for tooth brushing, but I let them know and they said they would get that fixed. The shower is good. Plenty of towels and bedding. You can’t really open the windows but with all the scaffolding that’s probably not safe at the moment. Speaking of, you can take the elevator to the roof and it’s an open construction site! Crazy. Breakfast is good, includes waffles, cereal, toast, pastries. Limited teas. Check out easy. Great location for buses and subways.
