Further to my review ( rude greeting) regarding customer service Tuesday April 30 @ 7.30pm at your pub. The young lady that served us had long dark curly hair.

Took the family for dinner. Unfortunately they seemed to of had kitchen issues, calling in another chef after we had ordered. As much as the meal was reasonable at best. The excruciating long delay spoilt the evening. Whilst a round of drinks was welcome on the house, did not cut the mustard. The establishment had recently changed hands we believe. Will return at a much later date, when hopefully things will be a better experience. Here’s hoping ….

Brilliant time, lovely food, landlady fantastic. Warm, welcoming , we will back. Sarah is the new publican and she deserves a pat on the back, dealing with the flood in the cellar. Thankyou Sarah for making our stay enjoyable. We will make sure we will tell our friends

Food and service very good but rooms 4 and 5 shocking no heating bathroom need of tic cracked tiles sink needs replacing shower basket hanging on by one screw. To top it all no hot water at all rooms are very small was spost too stay two but only stayed one no at reception at 90clock to check out just a cleaner who didn't speak English

Way too pricey for the experience. Said free WiFi but it’s via the Cloud app (rubbish) whilst the staff use the hotel WiFi! Go figure? Towels and bed linen smell of the deep fat fryer. Food average. Beer average. Rooms are arranged around a very noisy beer garden. Could be a great place but lacks attention to detail. Cloud WiFi. Seriously. It’s 2026!

來自住宿之回應: Thank you for your review. We are sorry that we did not meet your expectations Wifi is out of our control with being a country pub it can be hit and miss which we sorry for this inconvince. Firstly, our bedding is not washed on site; it is cleaned by a professional laundry company, so we are confused by the comment that the bedding smelled. As we are a pub with rooms, there will naturally be some noise from the garden area at certain times, particularly during the summer months. However, we generally close the garden by 10:00 pm to minimise any disturbance to our guests. We also believe our room rates are very reasonable and offer good value for the facilities and location provided. Thank you again for your feedback, which we will take some into consideration. Friendly and very comfortable place, rooms were excellent and we loved the breakfast. Nice ale on tap - owners/staff couldn’t be nicer.

We had our family Christmas get together and it was great - such a friendly, welcoming team who made it really special and took great care of us, we'll definitely come back!

I visit this pub a couple of times a year as a beautiful mid point with a friend. On this occasion the food had noticeably improved and the Christmas decorations as well as warm friendly reception from staff made the visit extra special. Excited to return again next year. We are hoping to stop over night next time.

Popped into this old country pub on the way to a party. The place was packed and short staffed as the rush wasn’t expected and we had to wait 10 minutes for a drink and 40 minutes for the food to come that aside it was lovely and worth the wait. I hade a mixed grill, quality meat and lovely chips with a beef dripping gravy…fantastic. To top it off 6 onion rings that were really nice for an additional £1.95. My partner had chicken schnitzel and she said hers was beautiful as well. She had two cocktails for £12 and I had a diet coke. Water in a dispenser at your disposal. All this for £52 !!!!!! Bargain Would definitely go again great menu all well priced.

Beautiful and well kept pub, in a quaint village, the food was exceptional as was the service from both the landlord who was waiting the table and helped with food ordering, also any information and the bar staff friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend!

Phoned this place to ask if I needed to book for Sunday lunch, was told no just turn up, food is on till 5 ( website says 6 ). Turned up at 4pm, to be told Sunday roasts had finished. ( yet staff members were sat down eating Sunday roast dinner). Was told food had 'ran out '. Pub was hardly busy. About 5-6 people in. You either offer Sunday roast or you don't! Other food from menu was available so ordered the steak pie with mash. It was like a weatherspoon meal and well overpriced for what it was! Also no phone signal whatsoever, no WiFi unless you register and setup an account! This place needs sorting out! Won't be back and do not recommend!

Unfortunately for the 3rd time we have been unable to be served the meal we ordered. How on earth can you release a new Menu and not be able to serve what people have ordered. Unfortunately the Manager was not on site to discuss this with, which is a pretty poor show. Caitlin was a delight to speak to and an absolute asset to the pub, I feel sorry for the all the staff who are in the firing line of seating the customers and then have to return 45 minutes later to tell you that unfortunately what you have ordered is not available. So here we are on a Monday night, after an extremely stressful couple of days, tired and hungry and have to go home to scrambled eggs on toast and we are villagers. What on earth would visitors think of our lovely village pub?

Very tasty food, nice atmosphere. Amazing service from gemma. Despite being another staff member on shift gemma seemed to be the only one running around doing everything and serving every table at a very busy time, however she kept positive attitude and energy the whole time and making every customer feel welcome and even stopping and having a chat with whoever. Could not have asked for a better waitress, she really went above and beyond for everyone.

Friendly welcome from Chris on check-in, ground floor room opens from a courtyard, noted overflowing ashtray of roll-ups on table outside room door. Room looked OK, warm, clean, and the beds were comfortable. However the bathroom was just plain grubby - shower screen needs some limescale spray and a deep clean round the base, long black hairs (not mine!) in shower tray, splashed and dusty chrome towel rail. Very sensitive shower control took 5+ minutes of constant running before some lukewarm water appeared, although plenty of hot water in basin tap. One decent real ale at bar, average menu and food, fair bar prices. Breakfast, (described as "continental" on the phone when I booked) took some finding as the pub was locked up and deserted. When we eventually found it (none of this had been explained to us on check-in) it turned out to be a small dresser of help-yourself items in a lobby at the foot of a stair, comprising of a clingfilmed basket of croissants, a bread bin, pots of jam, mini-packs of cereals, milk in a fridge below and - randomly - a toilet roll. I washed a croissant down with a cup of instant coffee made in my room, and left.
