We stayed here because it was about 20 miles from Stratton Mountain (about a 30 minute drive) and it worked out very well. You can tell the owners pride in their lodge and implement very nice small touches to make it feel fancy! The breakfast was thoughtful and made from local ingredients and not just "toast and boxed cereal". There were make up wash clothes in the bathroom and the furniture in the room made me feel like I was in Vermont. While there are not many dining options near by, there is a Market 1 mile down the street that offer prepared meals and the room had a microwave and refrigerator (which was also very helpful). The check in/out person was super friendly and I felt at home when staying there. TV offered you the ability to log into your streamed apps (Netflix, Peacock, etc.). I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this property if you are going skiing in the area. Stratton Mountain is very pricey so this was a great alternative.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Lodge last week and had a very pleasant stay. Our room was clean and comfortable and we were so happy to have a great place to stay where our dog was also welcome. Although we had some rainy weather and didn’t get to use the outside seating very much, the views were beautiful, rain or shine. Oliver and David did everything to ensure our visit was a good one, including giving us ideas on pet friendly things to do in rainy weather. We definitely hope to visit again in the future.

Exceptionally clean, nicely appointed rooms. They have done a great job of integrating the original and the new. Just a couple of miles from Rock River and perfect place to stay if you want to visit the river. Great value. Owners are as nice as could be. Good breakfast included.

Stayed at the Lodge for a family ski weekend. We had 3 rooms of family staying for the weekend, and we were able to get rooms right next to each other, which was great. Owners replied to the request right away, and were able to accommodate us, which we were so happy about. Breakfast in the morning was good, perfect start to the morning before spending the day on the slopes. Distance from Mt Snow is about 25-30 min, but it’s an easy drive. Rooms were very comfortable and roomy. Breakfast area was able to be used at night to relax and play games. Only suggestion would be getting comfier chairs for the breakfast area. We liked to sit in here at night and play games and the chairs were not great. Overall we really liked the Lodge at West River and would definitely stay again!

Room was exceptionally clean. Bathroom had lots of towels and plenty of toiletries. Room came with a little refrigerator, coffee machine with coffee, and microwave with popcorn to pop. Also a thank you note with a little maple leaf bottle of maple syrup. They offer continental breakfast in the morning and in the main lobby there is a machine for ice and soft drinks. We have stayed many times and have never been disappointed. We’ve always had a clean room and enjoyed our stay. The owners and staff are very pleasant. My wife and I highly recommend staying here.

Clean and comfortable accommodations. Friendly staff. We selected this spot to start our cross country journey and we're glad we did. The continental breakfast is delightful. Fresh local strawberries were featured for our visit. Most important, this resort is pet friendly.
