On the plus side the hotel is in a nice location right on the harbour. The staff were very friendly and helpful. However we discovered why the menu is displayed outside but with no prices! We had a cocktail each before dinner, a 175ml glass of wine and no deserts, but the bill was £136 for the two of us. The wine and drinks were simply too expensive and this was probably the first time we have not ordered a bottle of wine in a restaurant in many years! I had whitebait starter and then a small “fillet of beef” which I couldn’t eat because it was not cooked as I asked, was dry, chewy and tasteless. When I told the waitress she just said “oh sorry” and that was it. I was sick all the next day (today!). The bedroom was nice but very small and we could hear every word from the room next door till very late, including ‘toilet sounds’. We had booked breakfast but cancelled it after dinner and left early morning. We walked through town both before and after dinner and noticed all the other restaurants were crammed full whereas this one was probably less than 25% occupied. It’s a shame as the people were very nice and it could have easily been so much better. I have been in the restaurant business and the wine business and have also advised hotels and restaurants, and spend a lot of time in hotels around the country and internationally, so I could see the amazing potential! Interestingly we stayed in a Premier Inn the previous night en route, which was right on the main A30, but quiet, comfortable, larger room, nice dinner, decent bottle of wine and 2 cocktails - at half the cost!

Check in was easy -small hotel with just six rooms.really nice and comfy.spotless clean and tidy..massive spa bath in the unsuit.staff really friendly and helpful can't fault them at all..amazing sea views breathtaking..highly recommend for couples and family's.only issue we had the room.was really cold at night time.

We booked the Harbour Hotel Fish & Grill for our small intimate wedding of 18 people. We could not have asked for a better service... The FOOD - WOW - what incredible food it was! Thank you to Aaron and to Kostas for cooking such a spectacular meal - fresh, delicious, interesting and exciting - everyone enjoyed every bite, of every course. Thank you so much guys! Breakfast was delicious, with everything there that you wanted to choose from - they even cure they're own smoked salmon! The rooms were beautiful and clean and comfortable. Had 2 great nights sleep - and what fantastic views from every room. The waitresses were brilliant and really looked after us - thank you guys! Aaron was fabulous in communicating with us to get everything organised and made it a totally stress free wedding (who can say that often, eh?!). Thank you again to all, it was a delight to be there! We shall 100% be back for every occasion that needs a proper good celebration! And of course, we'll be back for the crab sandwiches in the summer... See you soon!

This is our 4th visit to the hotel and as usual, the place is amazing. The staff are just so accommodating and friendly. We booked our usual room No.1. Its suits us with our english bulldog who likes to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by. The room has the best view in Newquay. The place is very homely and the food is just amazing from the breakfast to evening meals in the restaurant. Aaron is just an exceptional chef and i would recommend the food even if you aren’t staying in the hotel. Thanks to Aaron and the rest of the staff! The Harvey family including Gladstone the bulldog.

What a totally disappointing experience. No one answers the phones. You can’t ask for any information as it’s all locked up and no one answers the door. We eventually got inside and our room was awful. Small, dirty, nothing pat tested and a whirlpool bath which couldn’t keep the water in. The pillows didn’t fit into the covers, there was rubbish left from the previous guests and the furniture is tired, old and not really fit for purpose. There is a tiny telly on the wall, but you can’t watch it from the bed as the the bed had a huge footboard. The fridge in the room is a small fridge on the floor randomly plugged in. And the room was dirty. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on.

Just returned from a 3 night stay ,and everything was great . The room "DOVE " was lovely , breakfast superb , and owner Aaron and all the staff we met were friendly and made our stay memorable. The view from the balconies can't be beaten .even watching seals coming into the harbour . Can't wait to return 🤞

We stayed here four nights in May and enjoyed it tremendously. The rooms are small but well appointed, every room with a view of the harbor. You could sit there and watch the surfers, fishermen, kids and dogs romp on the beach. On the beach below are lots of food truck type food options. All that we sampled were great. The chef, Aaron, is top notch and breakfasts (and dinner if you chose) were wonderful.

This is a fantastic little find of a hotel. Stunning views of the harbour and sea from the bedrooms. The service was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel so welcome. The food was outstanding, As a vegetarian it was without doubt the best vegetarian breakfast I have ever had! Room was spotlessly clean with lovely towels and bedding. We had a fantastic break and would definitely return-they really got it right for being an unpretentious but exceptional!

Really disappointing. As this accommodation was advertised as 5 stars i was expecting a small boutique experience. Its not. Its not a hotel. Its a restaurant with basic rooms above. When arriving the front door was locked and i had to go dn to kitchen and call out to find someone. I was shocked when we were shown the room. Small with small ?double wooden frame bed, tiny bathroom, 1 chair in room and jug/coffee. This was one of the more expensive rooms we booked in the UK as we were in Newquay for 3 nites and thought we were booking somewhere nice. Its not a treat and its over priced. There is a reason why there are so few photos of the rooms on site. We had paid a week in advance $1500 NZ approx for the 3 nites so we werent going to see that back if we left. The 1st thing we did after seeing the room was rush to The Red Lion pub up the hill for a few cocktails (great pub) . We were lucky that it rained heavily that 1st nite and we were moved to a larger room but it certainly wasnt luxury. The location is great and views awesome but they are going to charge these prices an upgrade is required. Its 3 stars at best. The room reminded me of a back packers. Host Aaron a lovely guy. Honestly in 2 weeks we had in the UK was the worse accommodation we stayed at and 2nd to dearest. Im sure there are better options out there.

We had the pleasure of visiting the Harbour Hotel for our daughter’s wedding in early August. Arran the manager & top chef, was such a great guy, helpful friendly & professional. Natalie the wedding planner, was wonderful, nothing to much trouble, and did everything and more to help make the day special. All the staff deserve a mention as they were friendly & helpful. I cannot recommend this place enough, and will definitely return in the future, Thank you Steve

We had our wedding evening party here & stayed for the whole weekend the hotel is fantastic ! Aside from the amazing views across Newquay harbour to the other beaches the rooms were all clean /tidy & good sizes with the options of sofa beds in many rooms. The jacuzzi bath was heaven after a long day. The staff were all friendly & so helpful nothing was too much trouble. Natalie the events co ordinator was so lovely & made me feel so at ease, she was professional/friendly/resourceful & so easy to talk to. The food for the wedding was Devine & presentation was a highlight. Thank you Aaron. We will definitely be returning.

This is not an hotel. A good but very expensive restaurant with 6 bedrooms attached. While the view from bedroom is fabulous the room was very small and was not cleaned during our week's stay. Worn carpets in places badly need replacing .Breakfast was not great. One slice of toast one cup of coffee no butter . Just not a good overall impression and could not recommend staying here.

Our flight was delayed. Aaron greeted us with a warm smile and an offer of fish and chips and a glass of wine in our room even though the restaurant was closed. And it kept getting better from then on. Our room overlooked the harbour where we could watch the surfers and the constantly changing weather. The hotel is very quiet. Breakfast was delicious, also overlooking the harbour. Aaron was always so helpful and up beat. I highly recommend this hotel and the restaurant, for which I wrote a separate review.

A rare treat to find a hidden gem in bustling Newquay. Perched on the cliff overlooking the harbour, this hotel is made exceptional by the well appointed rooms (all with balconies overlooking the water), and the hospitality and warm welcome of chef Aaron and his team. The food is some of the best I have ever eaten, lemon sole so perfectly cooked that it melted in your mouth. This really is a gem and we will definitely be back.
