Great but Sucky parking

The location was excellent. Right across the street from the Tourist Office, which we made use of, and we’re told about a number of wonderful places to visit. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Went to the Glass Hotel which had an incredible display of art and put off leaving first thing in the morning so we could go to the Chrysler Museum. Definitely worth a visit!

The overall property was nice and it was great to have a restaurant onsite. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. One issue was the bathtub in my room (1005) had ground in dirt on its floor, and in the corner of the tub, there was a large piece of the enamel missing. They need to fix that. It would also be nice if they validated parking. They do offer a daily flat $20 fee to go in and out of the parking garage.

I love how clean my room was. It just happened to be prom night when i check in.Very busy but every one was very polite..we can see the city ocean view very nice ..we took advantage of pool and gym..i took a little stroll of the area i fault safe forgot to mention this was also mothers day weekend ..grab something to eat from restaurant inside hotel food was also good i truly enjoyed my stay i definitely recommend staying here hope this gives you some ideas of what to expect..shoppers the outlets were nice no Gucci or very high end designers but its something for everyone if you planning on seeing a concert at the Scope Arena its in walking distance..from Hotel

I will not stay at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott again. When I checked in, I was greeted by indifferent staff that made it clear that were inconvenienced that I was checking in. They did do their job, but just barely. I was not greeted, I was not given explanation about parking or dining or even where the elevators were located. When I went to my room, the key did not work. I went back to the front desk to have the key fixed.....it did not work again, and a service person was sent to my room. He opened the door....and the room was already occupied by a woman. It was a frightening, embarrassing, scary experience. When I went back to the front desk again, no one apologized or explained the situation. In fact, the staff acted like me entering a strangers room was not a big deal. The hotel's valet parking is inefficient. It took a long time for them to retrieve my car. The hotel restaurant was good.

Do not stay at this hotel. When I arrived, the front desk, staff were frankly rude. They made no effort to explain anything about the hotel, such as the location of the gym or the restaurants. I had a problem with my key and couldn’t get into my room. After two trips to the front office desk, they sent up a maintenance person to let me into the room. He opened the room…… And it was an occupied room. The woman that was staying in the room walked up as I was walking out of her room. To say that it was an awkward and uncomfortable conversation is an understatement. I went back down to the front desk a third time, and explained this terrible situation. The front desk staff were very nonchalant, and basically brushed me off. I would never stay at this hotel again.

Would not stay there again. The elevator situation is awful. Waited 10 minutes several times to go up or down. Called for extra towels and they never brought them.

Friendly staff and comfortable bed, but too many things didn’t work, like electrical outlets by the bed, sink not draining, parking valet not being able to find my car, etc.

Excellent stay! The property was very clean, staff was exceptionally nice, and everything we needed was walking distance.
