Een verborgen pareltje aan het Golden Lake in de buurt van het Algonquin park. We hadden een geweldig uitzicht over meer. En konden lekker rustig zitten in het zand aan het meer. Het personeel was geweldig, vriendelijk en heel behulpzaam. De man gaf ons ook nog tips voor bezienswaardigheden onderweg naar Ottawa. Dit hotel was een van de hoogtepunten van onze rondreis door Ontario / Québec. Jammer dat we niet langer konden blijven.

Uno de los mejores lugares en los que nos hemos alojado. Hermosa vista del lago, te enamoras del lugar, habitaciones grandes, cómodas, limpias, excelente atención del personal la gente súper amable, la comida riquísima definitivamente recomendable.

It was not a good experience. The pictures on-line are deceiving as they must have been taken a few years ago. The place was run down with peeling paint on railings and doors. There was a definite musty odour as well as chemical used to cover it up. It made it difficult to breathe and made our eyes scratchy. We were allergic to the air in the place. We were greeted poorly and disrespectfully, no manners at the front desk. He had to phone somewhere to make any decisions. We had driven over 2 hours to get there and were going to celebrate our 54th wedding anniversary, What a disappointment!

The location is beautiful, but the restaurant is something that needs fixing. We booked for our 27 Anniversary after seeing the resort on a tv renovation show and we like supporting local businesses. Anyway checkin was great the room was modern and updated, but their are many shortfalls. No glasses in the room, even though they provide a full-size fridge to chill food and beverages. The rooms have no glassware or microwave or toiletries. Would it be to so hard to provide a couple of glasses in the rooms instead of one paper cup that leaked? Our first night at the restaurant was good. The restaurant is dated and old 70/80 decor. Mind you it has a nice view of the lake. One major issue was the amount of flies in the restaurant they were everywhere. We ordered pub food for the first night and service was great and efficient. Mind you there was only maybe 6 people in the restaurant. So for our anniversary the second night we though, hey why not stay in house and eat in the restaurant again. What a mistake. There where maybe 12 people in the restaurant and our one server couldn’t handle this many people. We waited over 30 min to get our drinks due to our server trying to deal with people paying and new people showing up. Once served I have to say the food was maybe 3 star. Don’t try the gnocchi . Also with such a great spot why not set up an outside pub area with nice out door furniture. It’s a shame to be stuck inside with the flies on a beautiful summer evening. The area is great. The Wilno up the road 15 min it worth a visit and definitely check out the Wilno pub.

Had a wonderful lunch at the Sands today. Thanks to Robin for excellent customer service! The fish and chips and burger and fries tasted great. Also have vegetarian options in the menu. Beautiful view of Golden Lake with friendly and efficient service!

I have passed by the Restaurant a few times on my way to visit a friend in Killaloe, I decided on my way home I would stop and have a light meal, I am so glad that I did, the view is exceptional, the food and coffee was so good, the Server Sydney, what a pleasant young lady she is, a real gem, that is what you like to see when you go to a restaurant, the extra bit of conversation, and genuine smile, and making sure to ask if everything was OK, I would most definitely highly recommend

My family and I had a fabulous time here!!!! This place has everything!!!! The rooms were beautiful we stayed up in room 16&17 wich I highly reccomend. The resturant had amazing food and very friendly staff. All of our food tasted great both nights. Will definatley be returning!!

We attended a wedding here recently. Food was exceptional. The beach was such a pretty spot for the ceremony. I can't say enough about how the staff hustled and made our day so fun. Friendly, beautiful facility. We will definitely return for a getaway.

The Sands is a gem! The beach is fantastic and the spa is heavenly. Some updates & small touches could be done for improvement, for example: hooks in the rooms for beach towels, maybe some soft outdoor Edison lights (rather than bright sensor lights) and refreshing the paint on the balconies. Also note that they are understaffed so that restaurant has limited hours, but the staff are doing the very best they can. Always be kind! :)

This is a really nice spot. All of the rooms face the lake so the view is amazing. The rates are reasonable. The prices in the restaurant are very reasonable. The staff are friendly. The rooms are clean. Private beach.We will definitely return.

This review is of the restaurant. I called two weeks in advance to book a rezzo for 18 people for an 80th birthday lunch for my mom. There was one server for the entire restaurant and when other people came in for lunch behind us they were told to leave. Red flag? When menus were brought to the table, we were briefed on the over 20 black XXs on the menu of the items unavailable. Red flag? Salads were still on the menu so, phew. Attempting to use a tablet, the poor server had to try and take orders from 18 people who had almost no selection and using one black x’ed menu. After 20 minutes, orders seemed to be sorted. First salad arrives, but now told no salad left. So all main and side salad orders had to be adapted. This, while the one salad had already been served. Sandwiches seemed still available, so after another 20 mins and now shifted to pen and paper, orders put in. Over 1 hour after the first salad was served, some of the orders arrived. One, a club sandwich with lettuce on one side, tomato on the other, a piece of cheese on one side, a piece of bacon on the other. Not what one would equate with a club sandwich. I called them beforehand to organize a birthday dessert and they told me to bring my own, so when I brought it, was told I would have to pay a plating fee! I could wax lyrical about the tortuous event, but suffice to say, an utter embarrassment to fete my mother’s 80th. Thank goodness we had such lovely friends who graciously laughed and said oh well, we are all together. I asked to speak to management, get the owners’ # as I wanted to speak to them first before writing a review. I was told they would call me and they took my number. That was July 26th, and I have not heard from them. I feel for the server who was put in a ridiculous position, and they handled it as best they could. It is honestly the most ghastly lunch and situation I have had in the Valley. Such a shame, as our family and friends have been going there since the 70s. Skip the restaurant, and enjoy the lake while dining in more organized establishments.

Possibly one of the best stays we've ever experienced. The rooms are fresh and inviting, and the beds are exceptionally comfortable! The beach and location couldn't be more ideal, and the restaurant on site is delicious! They had the best wings we ever tasted!

The location is great with a sand beach at your door. Our room was ok but could use more updating. The stairs and walkway to beach level was needing a cleanup. Our bathroom was clean and the beds were comfortable. Our dinner was ok and the servers were exceptional. Room was $200 and dinner for two adults and one child $100.

We spent the weekend for our wedding anniversary. Rooms were clean and the view was amazing!!! The staff was lovely and sitting by the water was so relaxing. We are going to make this a yearly anniversary stay!!
