Room wasn't that well equipped for the money--no comfortable chairs, not much place to put luggage, and the premium channels on the TV were out of order. But the staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the location was good.

The room was damp and had either mold or and mildew. Which I am allergic to.If I didn't have my inhaler I don't know what I would have done. There was no one to speak to because the front desk is closed by 8:00 pm. If room 212 was tested for mold and or mildew it would be positive, I rate this hotel unsafe because if affected my respiratory health. I would like a refund. Thank you.

There were loud parties going on in the rooms behind us- could hear it all through the walls- madeit hard to sleep as it went on until 2AM. The cleaning staff also sat outside our room after their shift was done and staring at us- very disconcerting. I think they were waiting for a ride home. On a positive noteroom was clean and bed was comfortable.

Wonderful place to stay, bed was extremely comfortable, great pressure in shower, very quiet and cozy, property was well maintained and we were lucky enough to be there in time for the lilacs. Free breakfast and it was delicious with many options, also large fireplace in dining area with seating including couches and tables with chairs. Highly recommend and look forward to my next visit

Bed and room temperature was super comfortable. The only downfall it was kind of major is that no continental breakfast was served until after eight. There was coffee with some old Keurig available and it took about 10 minutes to get it going. I’m an early riser – 6 AM, so I didn’t enjoy that part. Other than that everything was great.

This is an exceptionally clean hotel in a perfect location right near downtown Northampton. While it maybe did not have all the flair of a larger chain hotel, the beds were very comfortable, ac in the room, bathroom very clean with plenty of towels and shower toiletries. No hairdryer, but I usually bring my own anyway. Two sitting chairs in the room and my only note for improvement in the room would be for a small table to go with the chairs. Continental breakfast was the usual fare - bagels, pastry, oa**eal, cereal, yogurt.. Coffee in carafes as well as a painfully slow Keurig for hot cocoa or cider - I would definitely suggest an upgrade on that to a more industrial size. In back of the hotel is a wonderful green with plenty of lounge chairs and shade - thoroughly enjoyed sitting back there with a book. I would definitely stay here again.

The rooms were very nice. Almost too large as they appear to be sp****ly furnished becasue of it. The bed was comfortable. There was not a coffee maker in the room which was odd as this is pretty much standard these days. I was able to go downstairs to get a cup at any hour but still odd. It is a place where the staff is only there a short while during the day -- but the after-hours check in was smooth. I thought I would like the fact that they use "old fashioned keys" however I was just worried the whole time I would lose it. I would stay again as it is walking distance to where may daughter attends school. It just has an odd in between feel -- kind of homey but somewhat sterile. Like a representation of what a New England Inn should be.

We have stayed at The Ellery four times in the past year while visiting our daughter at Smith College. It’s very refreshing to stay at a small and personal hotel. The staff of always friendly and willing to help, the communication prior to check in and afterwards is excellent. Breakfast is included and the breakfast area is kept clean amd welll stocked. The Ellery is walking distance to Smith College but also downtown North Hampton. It is in a beautiful residential neighborhood so is very quiet. They do book up during busy Smith College weekends so book in advance!
