朗廷酒店(The Langham Hotel)

I do not drive a large car bit getting into the car park was a harrowing experience up dimly lit, uneven and narrow lane was unpleasant and if I had a bigger car I would have been stuck. The hotel is very old style but clean which was the only saving grace. Unfortunately the area leading to my room smelled very strongly of **** which was really unpleasant. Room itself was fine and clean just a little tired. Tea and coffee provided was good . Cheap hotel to rest your head for a night.

I hate to leave a bad review, but I’d feel worse knowing somebody could be put in the same situation as I was - in an unclean room with nowhere else to go so last minute. I booked a room for 02/10 - 06/10 for work in Northampton. On arrival around 5pm, the car park was sketchy - you have to drive around the back of the hotel with no lights, on what can barely be called a road with such an uneven surface. Reception was fine; room was not. Lighter left on the floor either from previous guests or staff; hand prints on the mirrors, black mould up the wall right by the bed. Room not only absolutely freezing because of no double glazing on the windows but also incredibly loud given it was directly facing a main road which stayed loud all night. I was exhausted after work so took photographic evidence and went downstairs right away, feeling unsafe and very uncared for, asking if it was possible to be moved to another room. Man on reception said there were none tonight but could be done tomorrow if I came by.I reluctantly accepted but was visibly upset - I was not asked what was wrong, no apology was offered, and honestly it felt as though I was inconveniencing him by being there. I did not sleep that night. I left for work at 6:30, on passing in the morning seeing reception to be shuttered up. Packed my suitcase into the car ready for another room, partly also because I did not feel it would be secured in the current one. After work I went straight to reception only to be told the room couldn’t be sorted as it had to be done in the morning; something I hadn’t been informed of the evening before. I explained I could not possibly come by in the morning given my works schedule; met with a shrug from the same man (I only ever saw him at reception) and an incredibly rude, blunt attitude. I tried saying the room was unacceptable and the reasons why to be met with pointed refusal to acknowledge the issues. I had to check out and find somewhere else for the night. Upon asking about how I would go about claiming my stay back given I would not be there past that first night, he shrugged again and told me I would have to go through ***********. but The Langham have ignored emails from them trying to resolve this. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. Dirty,unhygienic room. Constantly drowned with the noise of traffic, freezing cold. Do not waste your money here. Plenty of nicer hotels with much more pleasant owners.

Value for money coupled with genuine charm .Free parking, nice breakfast. Friendly, professional welcome and clean throughout. Short walk into the town centre and in a tranquil location. The kitchen area is open plan in the dining room so hygiene is there for all to see. Overall a nice experience.

We have friends in Northampton so visit a few times a year, previously staying either at a Premier Inn or (very nice) B&B close to where our friends live. However, with the Premier Inn now closed and the price at the B&B approaching £100 per night, we decided that we needed to find somewhere else, choosing the Langham after a bit of online research. The Ritz it certainly is not but it is a very acceptable budget hotel. We found it warm, clean and comfortable, with a decent breakfast, though they couldn't provide g/f bread for my wife. They were happy to toast some of her own, however. The secure car park was a bonus, though the tortuous, narrow approach to it scared us the first time we drove it. We will certainly return.

Warm and cozy on a cold winters day. Great breakfast and friendly helpful . Much better value than air b and b in area, easy parking and straightforward booking. Very good value! Nice cotton sheets and thick towel. Really appreciated it being soo warm- very generous.

What was there too like, so very 1970/80’s poor level of cleaning, furniture not in good condition not the rooms, grills on the reception. No options or customer service at the breakfast table. Small car park around the back on uneven surface. This is a venue for the “hotel inspector”, Employ more staff and go and look at what the other hotels are offering.

Very good value as it includes a good quality breakfast.

They say you get what you pay for and we didn't pay alot, the room had everything we needed and was spacious the decor was dated but we found it charming. What we really liked was the friendly staff, they always smiled and were quick to help us with extra towels and cups. The breakfast was pretty decent too we had an amazing time and would return if in the area again thank you.

· Good value for money, paid £35 for one night and that included an excellent big breakfast. It is a little outdated but well maintained, the beds were comfy and it was actually nice to sleep in a bed of sheets and blankets instead of a quilt. Plenty of facilities in the room, tea etc. WiFi was ok and free. Quiet location even though close to road. Parking good but road to it full of potholes and could do with improving. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. For a last minute booking at a very good price would recommend it.
