Inkwell Beach Cottage

We're from MA, have done many bed and breakfasts all over New England so we know what to expect and what not to expect. I checked all these positive reviews and was confident that this was a wonderful place. We had room 9, $375 a night. King bed had 2 inch foam rubber under the sheets, very uncomfortable and found bed bugs under the foam rubber, see pictures. Hair dryer didn't work and could not be fixed, thick dust on the overhead fan. Went down for breakfast on Sat and they had no sugar for coffee, we got a one scrambled egg on a plate, Colleen was the only one in the house to cook, clean, and make the rooms. We noticed that our room key works for the front door and then tried a room across, room 6 and it opened, I then tried another room on that floor and another on the 2nd floor and it opened, Knowing this, I was unable to sleep without the concern of our safety on Saturday night. Management/Owners setup Colleen to fail in giving us the failed expectations that we experienced. Good luck with any accountability if anything gets stolen at this place or at the Narragansett house.

Lovely, charming, convenient to walking into Oak Bluffs and all transportation. Nice and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful to get us off to a good start in the morning. People working at the inn were very kind and accommodating. Located right across from Inkwell Beach so dramatic and beautiful in September.

A sweet cottage facing the Inkwell Beach, there's a great history here, friendly hosts, a generous breakfast, and easy access to Oak Bluffs and the busses that run around the island (just step out and wave them down). Cozy room with a balcony view of the beach. Six minute walk from the Oak Bluffs ferry.

Very, very disappointed. This place has been neglected. The view from our room was beautiful but as we tried to open the curtains to get a better look at the beach, the curtain rod holder fell off the wall. We attempted to put it back up & saw that there were tissues behind the bracket that were securing it to the wall (see picture). I tripped several times on the torn carpet at the steps landing (see picture). The front door entrance was difficult to open & one guest pulled the door handle & it fell off. The emergency fire escape door would not close. The continental breakfast was one of the worst we have ever had. Box mix muffins, coffee grinds in coffee & lack of basic items such as sugar. The B&B was.very clean & the housekeeper very nice. We have never given a review but felt we could help someone else not waste $450 a night.

We had a lovely stay at Inkwell Beach House! The B&B was so charming and perfect location. Right in front of the beach and a quick walk to town. Breakfast every morning was great and the staff were so incredibly friendly! Would stay again!

I had to remain on MV for an extra day due to a flight cancellation. I found an accommodation at the “Inkwell Inn” through luck but mostly 🙏🏽 I was stranded & just by chance I walked up to the owner as I was looking for a room for one night. She told me that she doesn't usually rent rooms for one night, but she graciously gave me Rm #2 - THE BEST room at the inn topped off with an ocean 🌅 view. I will be back to enjoy the hospitality, the view and the yoga! I will also tell my friends that the “Inkwell Inn” is the go to place on the island!

We had the best stay at the Inkwell Beach House this summer! The location across the beach is wonderful and it's only a few minutes walk to the restaurants and shops. It is beautifully decorated and immaculate in terms of cleanliness. One of the best parts of our stay was the staff (Coleen, CC, and Zannia were there when we were); they were friendly, knowledgeable about the Island, and helpful. The breakfast was great too! We will definitely be back!

First of all the location can't be beat overlooking inkwell beach and the sound, but a short walk to downtown OB. Colleen was the best, she was super friendly and helped us figure out the best room selections for our friends. This is not a boring modern hotel, its a B&B full of charm and helpful staff gals. Towels and beachchairs at the hotel are a great amenity. Room was clean and bright, plenty of pillows on a comfy bed. They could use a couple more hooks for towels/bathing suits etc but otherwise it had all we needed for a 2 night busy stay on MV. Breakfast was nice, the basic continental but there was the option of scrambled eggs or homemade waffles as well.

Loved every minute here, across from the famous Inkwell Beach. We had a top room--many stairs--but we were on the front and had a water view. We loved our room. The breakfast was terrific and we met several of our fellow guests. We sat on the porch in chairs and ate our take out lunch from the salad place down town. Most of all I loved the staff, friendly, helpful, interesting and fun. I know we will return. Bought a t-shirt celebrating Juneteenth.
