We were staying in palm resort, apartment 6 for the hideout festival. When Vanessa checked us in she told us we needed to be out by 10am, I told her that we were going to be leaving at 6:40am anyway in order to get to the bus station to get us airport transfer. She just said “okay” and did not inform me that I needed to let the accommodation know 24hrs before, despite me telling her when we checked in which was a week ago. I had to spend the morning arguing with the woman on the helpline as she said I needed to wait for someone to come but I had told her that we needed to leave and she hung up on my after telling me she’d call me back which she never did. All she did was send me a WhatsApp message after about 20 minutes and 6 messages from me telling me to send an email an address she sent me with my information. We are now waiting for a response from the email address as we were required to pay a €300 security deposit and we’re told by the woman on the phone that we won’t get it back unless we wait for someone to arrive to check us out, even though we told them at the very start of our stay and that I had explained this morning it would cause us to miss our flight. Seems like more of a scam to me? Just trying to get an easy €300 out of 19 year old young girls who were taken advantage of. We are very unhappy with the customer service as it seemed like we were just meant to know these things even though we were not informed at all. It made our morning very stressful and rushed and wasn’t a pleasant stay as there was a broken sofa arm, hole in the wall, cracked fridge tray, no Wi-Fi even though it was advertised that there would be, scratches and dead bugs all over the walls and TV which did not work. The bathroom also flooded every time we used the shower as the drain did not work either and the pool was filthy and very clearly not cleaned regularly. We did not have a bin or sanitary bin so had to use our own money to buy those things as well as toilet paper as we were given one roll for a weeks stay? No kitchen roll or tea towels which we also had to buy out of our own money in order to keep the apartment clean for them. I think it’s very unfair for us to have looked after the apartment the best we could and try our best to clean even though we didn’t have any cleaning supply’s such as a mop or broom provided to us, and then to be told that we are wrong and are lying because Vanessa was not informative and not clear and frankly quite lazy, abrupt, rude and then to accuse us of lying? We felt disrespected and did not enjoy being spoken to on the phone by the woman who was almost laughing at our expense. Would not recommend these apartments, although the balcony was nice, the stench of a rotten smell was drifting over every 20 minutes. We will not be returning.
