Not your usual best western. No amenities whatsoever. Not close to many places/restaurants. The rooms have a weird smell

Very good experience with this overnight stay. We travel quite often to this area and we have decided to try the BW Durham. We had a good night sleep and it was not crowded in the morning for breakfast compared to another hotel in the same area.

It is obviously either being used as a homeless shelter or safe use centre. I didn’t read that in the fine print.
Upon arrival with my family there was someone clearly on ***** in the hall way and people smoking crack outside of our vehicle. I did NOT feel comfortable being alone or to leave my kids alone.
The building is rundown, water damage on ceiling and walls being poorly covered by paint and wallpaper.

Mattress was stained down the side (coffee?). People banging in doors at 6 am. Breakfast sausages today tasted funny(bad).
Otherwise, it was fine.

We liked the convenience to our event (9 min drive) and the staff friendliness; however, the coffee maker in the room needs cleaning (coffee tasted off), the ironing board was broken so we could not fold it up, and the breakfast did not offer any alternative dairy options for coffee/tea. Also, the beds were uncomfortable.

Staff were great but this hotel is old and dated, a real step below typical best western plus hotels. Coffee was terrible, breakfast inedible. It’s much More like a travelodge and should be priced accordingly
