哈朗加納洛奇酒店(Hlangana Lodge)

Grounds were lovely Room was poor. We had midges in the room (I hope they were midges), long hairs all over the couch (not ours). The safe wasn’t working, the tv was broke, no bath mat, half a roll of toilet tissue. Entry to your room is via old fashioned locks with long keys, starting at 5 in the morning, all we could hear was people opening and closing their doors and the jangling of keys.

Mooie locatie en top service. Denken mee, reserveren restaurants. Na lekke band met de huurauto heeft Anjo zich heel erg ingespannen om ons te helpen met het bereiken van de verhuurmaatschappij en liet zich niet afschepen. De medewerkers staan echt klaar voor hun gasten.

Mooie tuin en omgeving, leuke en ruime kamers, onze badkamer had misschien wel een kleine update nodig,

A very brief 1nt stay but we loved Hlangana Lodge. The location was perfect, close to restaurants, close to Oudtshoorn centre & only 20min drive to Cango Caves & 15min drive to Cango Ostrich Safari. The rooms were clean & beds were very comfortable, we loved the little room for the kids which gave us a bit of space. We all loved the swimming pool, especially the children. Breakfast was lovely & we liked how we could order food in, especially after a long drive we all just wanted pizza & an early night. The staff were excellent - very friendly & helpful. We loved our stay at Hlangana Lodge & will definitely stay again when next in Oudtshoorn :)

Not sure how to put this really, but to say that while ok, neither Oudtshoorn nor Hlangana Lodge were a really great experience. Perhaps we were just exhausted after a long drive, but we found the hotel tired & and bit ragged around the edges, the front reception staff indifferent, and the mattress unusually hard (I’m someone who prefers a supportive mattress, but this was really excessive). The grounds were beautiful, and I’m sure the lodge is one of the better places if you’re staying in town. PS as the hotel does not have a dinner restaurant, you need to eat elsewhere, and I’m sorry to say that while the town does seem to have good restaurants, we did not feel very safe there after dark - I realize these things are very subjective, so it might just be us, but what it boils down to is that if you wanted to make a stop here to see the things this region has to offer, then personally I’d stay in a lodge outside of town with a restaurant. Sorry.

A really attractive Colonial style guesthouse with spacious grounds and a pool. Nice large bungalow style rooms overlooking the gardens. The highlight for us was the arrival of the local Harley Davidson Chapter complete with a baggage coach! This hotel is about half an hour from The Cango Caves. and you pass Ostrich farms and Camel riding on the way.

First impression when you drive in is good. the exterior of the property is well maintained. The greeting by Recrpion is positive, and you are made to feel welcome. Rooms look out onto gardens, with own patio area. Rooms are of hood size, everything worked was clean, and there was a mini bar which was well stocked and reasonably priced. My only regret was that we were only staying one night. Well worth staying for a few days or more.

Beautiful secluded peaceful place. The room was amazing, very large , clean and with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was good. Reception recommended and booked dinner reservations and organised taxis for us to get there and back. It felt very secure and safe. Would definitely recommend this place.

Stayed for two nights. Very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water and a good sized room. Ours was a little dated but clean and the gardens are beautiful. Breakfast was very nice and the staff very helpful. They organised restaurant bookings and taxis - eat at Jemima’s and Nostalgie - both great choices recommended by the hotel. Nice swim in the pool and great place to get laundry done if you’re staying a couple of nights. All in all I’d stay here again. Good value.
