We stayed overnight before an early ferry departure back to Portsmouth. The rooms are OK, but the bathrooms are not very clean and are generally a bit yucky. Alex Polizzi would sneer at the level of cleanliness. The taps were completely rusty and the bracket to hold the shower head in place was broken. The hotel says it has WiFi, but they didn’t share the code until we called reception to ask for it. They need not have worried - the Wi-Fi was practically non existent and dropped out constantly. Not fast enough to do fairly basic things, so fairly pointless. The beds were clean, which was encouraging, but the rooms are really tired, beds are small and there’s a distinct sewagey smell. If you can, I’d recommend staying a little further away in one of the chain hotels where you’ll get a big bed, air con, decent Wi-Fi and a clean bathroom for around the same cost. This place is clearly trading on its proximity to the ferry terminal, but at just over 100 euros for the night for 2 adults and a child, its rates are really over-reaching for what is a fairly grotty experience.
