Very disappointing stay – poor room quality and discrimination against GoIbibo bookings My stay at Vels Court, Palani was extremely disappointing and not at all worth the price paid. At check-in (3:00 PM), the receptionist explicitly told us that because the booking was made through GoIbibo, we must vacate by 12:00 noon the next day, which felt discriminatory and unprofessional. A booking platform should not result in different or inferior treatment. We were initially allotted a room that was in very poor condition: Strong bad odour Cracks on the walls Poorly maintained washroom Extremely unhygienic buckets TV had no free channels – all were paid Despite “Quality Promise” signage everywhere, the actual room quality was the complete opposite. I requested a room change. The second room was filled with a strong smoking smell. The staff refused to acknowledge the issue and claimed that someone else smoking caused the smell to travel, which was not convincing at all. Parking and security were also poorly managed. There was no security available to open the gate, so I had to get down and open it myself. After parking, the security suddenly appeared and asked me to move the vehicle elsewhere. While the staff were polite, the overall quality of the room, maintenance, hygiene, and management attitude were unacceptable. It was strongly suggested that inferior rooms were assigned because the booking was made via GoIbibo. Overall, this was a very poor experience, and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially considering the price charged. For the experience received, I would request a full refund from GoIBIBO Just keeping the receiption area clean would not help people staying in the room.
