With only 15 rooms, this is the definition of a boutique hotel. But it’s more than that. It feels like a home away from home thanks to the intimate familiarity and care of the hotel staff, led by the incomparable Marie Jo. She is the epitome of kind. Nothing was too big or small for them - extra water bottles, no problem. Tea kettle and cups for the room - of course. Taxi orders and restaurant recommendations - the best. Matching the staff’s extraordinary kindness is the location. Literally one block to the Musee d’Orsay, two blocks to the Louvre, one block to the Seine. It is surrounded equally by excellent restaurants (Bistrot de Paris and Les Antiquaires). This is Paris at its best. When it comes to the rooms, they are perfectly appointed. Yes they are small-ish (although the ground floor room was spacious) but that’s Paris. You have literally everything you need from bath robes and flip-flops to high-end toiletries. Each room has a unique theme with a particular, shout-out to French authors, film, directors, and musicians. Clearly, the owner has an eye for design as there is nothing that was missed. This is now the only hotel we will stay in when we go to Paris, Paris. And my sense is that there are many others who would agree.
