My wife and I stayed at The Glendale after completing the 80 mile Dales Way, so we arrived pretty tired. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and directed to our top floor room which was neat and tidy an which had everything we needed. It was a very good stay and we will likely stay again if in the area,

Just a short walk from the town centre on a picturesque row of beautiful Cumbrian red townhouses is the lovely Glendale Guest House. The house itself is wonderfully maintained - they've managed to get all the mod-cons in without destroying the beautiful original features. I was staying in single room 1 - on it's own little landing backing onto the churchyard (so incredibly quiet!). Fully equipped with it's own immaculate en-suite. I had the best night's sleep, followed by a piping hot and plentiful Cumbrian breakfast, and all setup for the day. On top of all this, the owners are absolutely lovely. 100% recommended!

I had a one night stay after a days walking in the fells. On arrival I had a the most warm welcome from the owner and felt at home straight away, she also gave me useful info about parking and directions to a local restaurant where I was meeting friends. My room was clean, warm and comfortable with pleasant decor, tea and coffee and modern en suite. It was easy to come and go and just 2 mins walk from the main street, bars and restaurants. I pre-ordered a full English breakfast which was delicious and served in nice surroundings. Overall a very pleasant experience, I’ll stay here again, thank you

An excellent place to stay and the owner Ann couldn't have been more helpful to us on our CTC bike ride. We were so grateful that there was a drying room and she made sure all our wet clothing was dried and ready for the next morning. Breakfast was great as was the room

Glendale Guest House is a brilliant place to stay, Ann is a perfect host. Brilliant and safe storage for bikes. Ann is very accommodating, lovely room and shower. Perfect location in Penrith, local to shops, pubs and takeaways/ restaurants.

stayed one night, single room £55 plus £5 for breakfast. Very good deal when compared with the competition. Located a short walk from the town centre. Parking can be an issue in Penrith, but Glendale are lucky to have a cheap public car park just a minute's walk away! Parking is free 6pm until 8am. Glendale is definitely a high quality B&B, fully refurbed mid 1800's spacious building oozes character with its decor, carefully selected furniture and adornments in the shared areas. My room was immaculate. The owners are very friendly and attentive and obviously go the extra mile to please their guests. 5* will return

Top notch B&B - stayed there in June 2023 as part of a group cycling the C2C route. I recall that we had 3 twin rooms and 2 singles. All very comfortable and quite spacious. My twin was good and the en-suite shower was particularly appreciated after a hard day's cycling from Workington. Great breakfast in a very elegant front room with high ceilings and a very large bay window. Also the Glendale has a secure bike shed at the back, which took all 8 of our bikes. Good location for food and drink in the centre of Penrith - 5 minutes walk away. I don't normally eat pizza, but I must say that Villa Bianca makes some of the best one's in the area.

Lovely guest house with a very friendly welcome from Anne when we arrived on our bikes dripping wet after a very damp day's cycling. Once our bikes were securely stored, Anne took some of our wettest clothing to her drying room. We then were able to enjoy a very comfortable room and welcome shower. A good cooked breakfast set us up well the following morning. Highly recommend the Glendale as a place to stay in Penrith. Thank you, Anne

We stayed at the Glendale Guest House for three nights and we loved it there! It was peaceful and the room was spacious and lovely. Ann was very welcoming and helpful towards us and the breakfast was delicious. Would definitely visit again! The surrounding area was also very lovely, so much to do and see! I would recommend visiting Keswick, the scenery there was amazing.
