Lane Head Farm Country Guest House

Lane Head Farm is a great place to stay in the Lake District! Surachi and her family run a great operation and my stay was relaxing and a welcome balm to my travel weary soul. I stayed here for almost a week at the end of an eight week travel stint and loved it. Location wise I found it quite “central” to everything in the Lake District being about 10 minutes from Keswick and an hour or so to Lake buttermere, coniston, and Derwent. Driving was super easy and there’s good parking at lane head. Breakfast was amazing and Surachi cooks it all herself. It was good for me to have Surachi around in the mornings for quick chats and the other guests eating together. Though the hot breakfast options are all vegetarian the food is plentiful and very tasty. I definitely recommend the mushrooms in the English breakfast. I stayed in room 7 and the bed was comfortable and the room spacious and well appointed. I did manage to somehow turn off the heaters in the room and bathroom but the bedding was warm enough that the heaters weren’t needed.

My wife and I had a lovely welcome from Suruchi despite us arriving a little earlier than we planned. The location was easy to find with roomy parking for our SUV. Our four-poster room was both clean and comfortable. No noise at bedtime meant we slept well, waking in a lovely location. Breakfast was tasty and personal. Be sure to take a trip to Keswick (only ten minutes in the car) - it has a cosy feel, with specialist shops, especially in the clothing field, and coffee bars. Overall, a lovely stay. Great value. (And Suruchi was kind enough to post my cap to me which I had left in our room - much appreciated!)

First stopover for us, as a family group of 5 cyclists doing the C2C route. Suruchi was the perfect host, very welcoming and attentive. Our rooms were lovely and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of options available including freshly baked bread, fruit, cereals and a full vegetarian cooked breakfast. Perfect for a big day on the bikes.

Very professionally run establishment. Very clean and anything you need will be attended to. The surroundings are beautiful in any weather at any time of year. Most of the residents are returning customers and enjoyable stay for 3 nights.

What a Beautiful and Wonderful Guest House, Everything was perfect from the rooms to the breakfast. Hosts never stopped looking after you whether you wanted extra pillows a heater , all beds have luxury under blanket warmers . The rooms were big . Our four poster room was excellent, good Wi-Fi , loads of places to put your clothes away . Breakfast was brilliant from the buffet part which you he.p yourself to the variety of cooked breakfasts to go with it . Fully licensed. We had Evening Meals every night and the amount w as loads and was so tasty from curries to homemade pizza. This has to be the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at . Whole family made us feel so welcome. And right I between Penrith and Keswick just off the A66 . We were sad to leave and a beautiful garden. Definitely looking forward to going back .

Very pleased to have stayed in such a lovely homely and cosy guest house for our trip. The hostess was really friendly, giving ideas for great things to do locally, and tips for places for free parking in Keswick! Lots of tasty breakfast options and plenty to eat to set you up for the day. The room was lovely with electric blankets and a brilliant power shower and bath - great after long walks round the lakes. Highly recommend.

Amazing and best choice of staycation I could've got. Location is just perfect if someone is looking a short drive to the must visit Ullswater and Aira force water fall and surrounding areas.The amazing view left us with more memories. We are definitely coming back. The host are very friendly and accommodative. They are highly recommended as they went above and beyond to look after us and provide us with anything required.

Explore the spectacular Lake District or head into the beautiful rolling hills of Helvellyn, there is so much to see and do. Lane head farm with its pet friendly cottage B&B offers the perfect luxurious getaway choice for couples friends & families. Also a bit shout to the host/owner the mother son duo who are really Kind, Generous & Accommodating and do an incredible job at looking for all your needs and their Hospitality is really unmatchable

We stayed in Lane Head cottage with friends & family & we couldn't have been happier. The location was perfect (just a short drive from the Ullaswater & Aira Force), the facilities/cleanliness of the cottage was excellent & the host couldn't have been more welcoming. In our opinion it was a luxury well worth the price.
