We went for a try of the Breakfasts today …. Brilliant…seating/table good , service excellent , prices ok and decent portion size perfectly cooked …. Will be back for another breakfast/ brunch again soon as we live local 👍👍 Looking after locals 👍👍

Four of us guys spent five nights at the St Olaf on a birthday golfing trip. Our stay at the St. Olaf was outstanding. The hotel location was excellent for golf at Cruden Bay and neighboring courses, the hotel facility itself met all expectations, and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. I’d recommend St. Olaf to all.

Had a great stay at St Olaf am back again next week on business, staff very pleasant and helpful, food was fantastic, and a nice bar area with Sky for the football and pool table. The rooms are made up every day also, and the view of the golf course from the room is a nice bonus also.

There were 9 of us in the dining room for dinner. Great atmosphere,friendly service and good home cooked food. There was a live band on when we went on a Sat night. Service was very efficient. The female serving actually thanked us and said we were a pleasure to serve which was very nice of her but unfortunately I didnt get her name. Will definitely be back.

The St Olaf Golf Hotel has a great atmosphere and is very welcoming from their friendly staff. Would highly recommend anyone to visit when they can get the chance to sample the excellent food or even just the bar for drinks. Also very family friendly and dogs are allowed in too so there’s almost no excuse not to go and see for yourself.

Having stayed here before a couple of times, I am always drawn back to this hotel due to its spectacular location and views. Rooms and comfortable and clean and a good choice of tasty breakfasts on offer although not included in a standard price.

My wife and I were in Cruden Bay and decided to have lunch at St Olaf's. I asked if there were Gluten Free options available, the member of staff on duty showed me the menu had a full page of gf dishes. I opted for the chicken fillets, fries and salad, I expected the chicken fillets would either have batter or breadcrumb coatings, as both are widely available on menus. What I was served with wasa plate of fries with "Chicken" pieces that looked and felt like frozen, microwaved chicken. The salad was also missing. I persevered and asked for the salad, I should have just got up and left. I have emailed the hotel and attached a photo of the "Offering" I have recieved an apology but no offer if a refund

Have been twice recently for food. First time was lunch, great service by a young lady who took a very random order in her stride and didn’t bat an eyelid. Food was great, well presented and great selection on the menu. Returned tonight for an early dinner, again good service, lovely food and the only negative was the background music playing the same song about six times. Definitely worth a try!

Extremly disappointed with Food. Battered fish so overcooked it was dry. Haddock mornay had no cheese sauce, instead a white wine & garlic sauce. I am allergic to garlic no mention of garlic on menu. I brought this to the attention of staff, Whilst my meal was removed from bill, serving a completely different sauce from menu is quite bizzare. Dined many times here over the years. But the food tonight was dreadful. Wont be back. Sorry.

Very pleasant stay at this hotel, hotel is a bit tired looking and rooms could do with a refresh. We originally were in room 1 which was very small and view wasn’t good. However things picked up after we had lovely meal and owners offered an upgrade without any reason. We moved into room 4, family room overlooking the golf course and sea beyond. Much nicer although decor could do with modernisation. The service was without a doubt too class with the entire team very friendly and accommodating. The owners are new and are putting their own touch on the hotel. Without a doubt the best aspect of the hotel was the food! Out of this world. The reason we visited was a golf match with Cruden Bay GC, which is 200yds to the club house.

Rainy Summer Sunday evening and no desire to cook, so decided to check out the St Olaf Golf Hotel. Recent new owners and within walking distance (1 hour) of our house made this a must to check out. We haven't eaten here before so can't compare the food to previous owners but we we welcomed with smiles and shown to our table promptly. The specials board was brought over along with the menus. Plenty of choice, so I opted for the chicken Tikka Masala with rice and naan and hubby asked for Chicken Maryland. Good portion sizes, especially the Chicken Maryland! The food was cooked well and we did our best to clear the plate. Dessert was apple strudel with two spoons. Again, very good and demolished in no time! Food is served here all day so if you prefer a breakfast roll or lunch then they will accommodate you. Well worth a visit.

Your restaurant exceeded all expectations with such friendly and helpful staff who made us very welcome. Our meal was superb and such great value for money with the best scampi that I have tasted in over twenty years. We will be back as there was such a great choice including great old fashioned desserts.

Very disappointed with the service at this hotel. Visited the hotel several weeks ago with friends. After waiting for 5 mins for someone to come and show us to our seats, we had to go ask where we were sitting. Told where our seats where, more diners came in after us, and they were given the menus and asked if they wanted to order drinks right away. Nobody came to give us menus, we had to ask for them!!. Eventually they came to take our food and drinks order. Almost 45 mins later, waitress came to say that the fish had stuck to the bottom of the fryer and our meal would be a bit longer to be served. After waiting one hour we were given our meals, which was very nice. Waitress checked if all ok with our meal and she said, "well it was worth the wait". No apology and a very unprofessional comment to make. Certainly will not rush back here again.

What an amazing find, great food reasonably priced, lovely staff and great atmosphere. Made welcome from the moment we walked in, nothing was too much trouble. We all had different meals but all arrived together. My wife said he Beef Stroganoff was the best she'd ever had. We'll be back.
