Totally recommend The Bell Guesthouse, everyone is so welcoming & friendly. The rooms are clean, warm & good value, the breakfast is spot on. The bar has a lovely coal fire, nothing is too much trouble for the staff & their regular customers are friendly too.

Host and staff very welcoming nice small hotel I stayed in the court yard studio self contained with a big double bed Big TV on suit shower kitchen furnished to upto date style very comfortable breakfast was included with a variety of choices a great place as a base to come back to after a day of exploring

Lovely welcome & very happy stay at The Bell. No hassle just left alone to enjoy your stay. Fabulous rooms. Breakfast is awesome & the staff really do go the extra mile. You are only 8 miles away from Seaham & Sunderland. We really enjoyed our stay & certainly will return.

I've stayed here a couple of times now after works events. The rooms are above a pub but fear not, it's a good pub and not silly noisy! The staff are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and very well presented, breakfast is great and what you need to start your day. The owner is a lovely guy who gives you the time of conversation, everyone here is happy to help. They know your name and greet you accordingly. The bar of the pub is very well stocked with plenty of selections too. I'm a malt whiskey drinker and they didn't disappoint either. I'll be very happy to stay here again, it ticks all the boxes I need for an overnighter and I'm sure it will work for you too.

We had a lovely stay at the Bell welcome from reception to breakfast the staff are lovely, the room was warm and the bed was very comfortable breakfast was well cooked and service was good, we will definitely book again if we are in Peterlee
