Title: Perfect Weekend Getaway at Spyglass Inn, Pismo Beach
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Spyglass Inn in Pismo Beach, and it was a great experience. Nestled in a prime location, this inn offers easy access to the best of the area's natural beauty and recreational activities.
Proximity to the beach is unbeatable. Waking up to the serene views of the ocean and the calming sound of the waves was a daily highlight. The beach itself is clean and inviting, perfect for both sunbathing and very peaceful at dawn and sunset. The area boasts several scenic hiking trails. We took advantage of these and were rewarded with breathtaking views and the chance to reconnect with nature.
Food options around Spyglass Inn also added to the charm of our stay. We indulged in some local cuisine that was as delicious as it was diverse. From fresh seafood to hearty breakfasts, plus a great steak in Arroyo Grande, 5 min drive.
The inn itself provides a wonderful atmosphere to unwind. The room was comfortable and well-maintained, offering all the amenities needed for a relaxing retreat. The staff was friendly and helpful when needed, going out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay.
Overall, our weekend at the Spyglass Inn was a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a rejuvenating getaway in a picturesque setting. Whether you're an avid hiker, a beach lover, or just in need of some peaceful downtime, Spyglass Inn is an ideal choice.
Lots of parking even when we arrived late at night. Which is always a worry when we do our long roadtrips. I think they’re renovating. Rooms were nice, clean, and big! You can tell it’s an old building, but you can tell they maintain and upkeep this place. Although, they don’t have free breakfast, this was one place that I liked. Tip: the hotel parking & entrance is on the 4th floor (vs 1st). If you’re like us who like 1st floor rooms to avoid elevators, it is totally opposite here.
MmavieSFThe owners are horrible people who do not have an ounce of customer service and business sense. The room they gave us smelled of fresh paint and no AC. He said he would reimburse us but after i had made a reservation for another hotel, he decided not to reimburse us because there suddenly was an available room, but with same conditions-paint smell. I told him i am an asthmatic and i cannot stay in a room that wreaked paint and that i had already paid for another hotel. He got furious, threatened to sew us-even though i had pre-paid for my room. He gave us so much anxiety. These folks are crooks who took my money and gave me one of the worst experiences of my life.
Ddcontr427643We went for a weekend getaway from LA area to Pismo and found the Tides on a website. The room was new and clean and the walls were thick so we didn’t even hear another visitor through the walls. It looks like a remodeled hotel from the 50s yet inside the rooms were new and clean. We brought our toy poodle and it was pet friendly yet clean. They also have little cottages that are being remodeled and look very cool to rent in the future and have a cliff view of the beach and places to sit and watch the ocean!
We liked that it's 5 min from the beach. We appreciated Chris and Patrick. I told you above what you can improve but I'll put it here incase you chose not to read it in the upper part of this survey! The bathroom toilet had a sewer/unclean smell coming from the toilet and when the air was on it was worse!. THIS room was a NON SMOKING room BUT the adjoining room was a smoking room and the smoke from cigarettes and **** was coming through the adjoining door!!! I'm extremely allergic to cig smoke..I get asthma! This needs to be changed to BOTH smoking or BOTH non smoking rooms!!!! We had to be moved that night to another room.. the handicap room! The morning people, Chris at the desk and maintenance man Patrick generously moved the Microwave and fridge to that room. So no more smells from toilet but the shower head needs fixing as it sprayed everywhere but where it was supposed to and the the sink faucet sprayed water everywhere!!! The 2 night person's were very rude and told us they couldn't move the 2 appliances and for us to go buy a cooler! They also weren't going to let us keep our food in the fridge overnight so we could resolve this issue in the morning with someone more qualified. They wanted us to return the key card after we settled into the handicap room because we ”might rent the room out to someone else for the night”!!!! We refused to do so!!!! In the morning they had the maid cleaning the room with our fridge stuff STILL THERE in the fridge!!! Patrick stopped her until he was able to move the fridge otherwise we may not have gotten our food back!!! We were very disappointed that we had to get our towels every day from the front desk! Covid has brought alot of laziness to businesses including Motel 6! We almost always choose Motel 6 and this is always where we stay when we come to Pismo except the last time 5 yrs ago when we stayed at Premier Inn as their prices were cheaper but this will be our last time staying at this motel!!! We were in Pismo Beach for TWO WEEKES to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and we were put through THIS hassle with rooms and those mentioned issues, along with the rudeness of your night employees and having to take care of our own linens and trash and we couldn't even get a discount for all the above issues!!! I only gave 3 stars because of Chris and Patrick otherwise you would have received 1 Star as that's the lowest star I could give!!! I was unsafe healthwise because of the smoking in the adjoining room! We were told that our situation was NOT the first time because of the smoking issue and cooperate had chosen NOT to resolve the issue previously!!! Obviously the health of your customers is not important!!!
