Is a really good all inclusive resort right beside Playa del Carmen city center and the dock from where the ships depart to Cozumel island. The best is the food and the whole staff. The less is the amount of amenities the hotel offers. The hotel is quite small so besides the pool, there is not much to do. Luckily for us, our plans were to visit Xcaret theme parks. And another not good part of the stay is the presence of sargazo sea **** that made the beach unvisitable. All and all is a good place to stay and our is experience was really good.

Great food and service! I’ve stayed at a few different all-inclusive places on the Riviera Maya and when it comes to food and services, Playacar Palace was top of the list. Pros: Smaller size all-inclusive A-la-Carte restaurants food and service top notch Cafe has delicious treats and drinks Beach restaurant has delicious menu and a pizza oven outside Drinks aren’t too watered down Staffs are amazing! All rooms have some sort of view of the ocean (We stayed in the walkout suite oceanfront and it was amazing!) Near 5th Ave shopping area Near Cozumel Ferry Family friendly Cons: Buffet options were good but lacks variation from day to day Only one single pool that stretched from the kiddie pool to the pool bar Even though beachfront but depending on the season is covered in seaweed and can’t really be enjoyed. (I commend all the hard workers who start their day trying to clear the beach of the seaweed but Mother Nature always prevail) Overall, I would highly recommend this resort and will definitely stay again but maybe when it’s not seaweed season 😂

Great resort, terrible beach in summer The Playacar Palace has a great location near Playa del Carmen with easy access to shopping and the ferry to Cozumel. The food, drinks and staff are top notch. Rooms are comfortable. All common areas except restaurants are open air so it's warm and humid most of the time - could be a plus or minus depending on who you are. The worst thing about our stay in late June was the Sargassum algae/seaweed. We know it's always bad in this area in the summer, but the stink creates an ever present odor and of course the beach is impossible to swim at. Because this hotel sits so close to the water, you get a lot more effect from the sargassum than at other properties, like when we stayed at the Moon Palace properties. We took a day trip to Cozumel and there was no sargassum issue - if you want to get on a beach, that's the only way. We felt bad for a wedding party taking photos on the bit of sand not covered with a large pile of unsightly yuck right behind them. While we really enjoyed out stay, I'd try the Cozumel Palace in the summer instead - there's no beach, but no sargassum issue. Effectively the Playacar Palace has no beach in the summer and suffers from bad smells and unsightly red brown nastiness covering the water and sand. Put this property on a clean beach, effectively Cozumel Palace, and it would be amazing!

Very nice small resort conveniently located. It is a block away to the port to go to Cozumel. Food was EXCELLENT! and staff is very friendly. I wish the pool was bigger. We went to Cozumel palace ( sister hotel) and spend the day at the beach and pool there.

Hotel right on beach, great location, good restaurants, nice rooms. One pool which had dirty ring around it, smell from seaweed on beach was very strong (I know it’s nature however did make us feel ill), very little to do at hotel.

We had such a great time, the food was delicious, our room was super clean, all the staff were super nice and welcoming. Eric, ingrid and Perla at the pool, Ivan at Madre Mia restaurant, and of course the people who had our room nice and clean every day. Location was super convenient since we were just close to the ferry tp go to Cozumel and 10 minutes away from Xcaret.
