If you’re after 5 star luxury, night porter, swimming pool etc. this isn’t the place for you. If, though, you want the warmest of welcomes, a clean and comfortable room, local knowledge and a good breakfast… walk this way. Barbican Reach is a proper B&B run by a couple who have the personality and experience to do things right… nothing overly fancy but just works. Easy walk to the city centre, even easier to the theatre, The Hoe and The Barbican where there’s a great choice of places to eat and drink. Some people will not like the fact that its on-street parking but we didn’t find it a problem… we could see our car from the window of our room at the front of the house… and there seemed a reasonable number of spaces within a short walk. That may not be the case in the height of summer but my sense is that Rob and Sue have a couple of tricks up their sleeve if all else fails. Booking direct, preferably by phone, is the thing to do… you can discuss rooms, get the best price and free parking permits.
