Rooms were clean and well maintained. We all went 6 people with families. Breakfast were good. Recommended.

L'hôtel est situé pas tres loin du quartier français de Pondichéry. Accueil correct. Les chambres sont spacieuses et propres mais mériteraient d'être rénovées. Il en est de même de la salle de bain. Par contre, l'insonorisation n'est pas géniale, l'hôtel est très bruyant depuis les chambres. Nous avons bien mangé au restaurant. Le petit-déjeuner est complet et copieux.

the room was spacious and clean would rate it 9/10 the housekeeping staffs and IRD staffs were friendly and helpful. Now coming to the food it was horrible The day we arrived I ordered room service an egg briyani and juice. Egg briyani was just a masala rice with two boiled eggs. And the next day I ordered fish 65, paneer 65, chicken burger and coffee. The fish had a smell and it wasn’t even hot(i had the 65 the minute it came to my room). The burger had a good presentation but the patty had very bad smell and taste. Coffee had a burnt taste. The day before check out we ordered some breakfast like Pongal, vada, chicken sausages and coffee. I know the sausages came from the buffet which could have been reheated or something. The sambar which came with the Pongal vada was so sweeter. The Pongal had more dalda instead of ghee and gave a weird plastic-y after taste which made me throw up the whole food. NOTE - as we ordered the food to room it was chargeable it seems. My question is you are charging money for it you could have at least given us some hot or warm food. I know you have a lot of international guests but please kindly provide them good food. While checking out I wanted to report this food issue to the front desk but two female receptionist were so knee to make us leave. Had to post it here. Kindly correct your mistakes that too food wise so that other people won’t have to suffer like us. We heard through locals of Pondicherry that your food will be so good but I strongly disagree.

It was not pleasant , we had to change rooms cause of power issues and the first day there was no AC in our rooms . I wouldn’t remember this hotel to anyone if they are coming with family .

Sorry to say … our views are totally opposite on the rating … Shenbaga Hotel & Convention Centre may be a beautiful hotel in the past but we had a HORRID experience during our three nights stay… we were travelling to Pondicherry with friends and family and had Prebooked 11 rooms at this hotel from 30 December 2025 to 2 Jan 2026 . We checked into the hotel at 12:30am on 31 December and were allotted rooms on different floors which was ok considering the fact that all rooms couldn’t be allotted on the same floor so all the rooms allotted were scattered from 2nd to 6th floor . When we were being allotted the rooms late in the night. the hotel administration didn’t bother to switch on the lobby lights and we had to hunt for our rooms in the dark ( dim bulbs were on at the two ends of the lobby) they had just one bell boy to reach our luggage to the rooms which really didn’t bother us much as it was late and and we did understand that at such hours they’d have minimal staff … however the nightmare began post breakfast on 31 Dec 2025, when the Manager Mr AJI JOHN dragged one of our boys out of his room and didn’t even allow him to call his parents or take his cell phone and took him like a criminal and kept him in his custody at the lobby.. the reason being that the boy’ 14 yr old younger brother had knocked the wrong door at night as he mistook it to be his mothers room ( the mother’s room number was 202 and he knocked on 204) the lady of 204 had complained to the manager about this and instead of hearing the matter from both sides he had already made a judgement that it was the 14 yr old’s prank … prank at 2 am??? That too after a road trip from Coimbatore for about 8-9 hrs really????…. The 14 yr old was sharing the room with his brother … so the manager went to his room and didn’t find him so dragged his older brother out like a criminal he just didn’t want to listen to the boys side of the story … when the 14 yr old came down with some of us to explain, he was just not ready to listen and started yelling and even passed comments on the 14 yr old saying “yeh baccha dikhta hai kya???” He behaved extremely rude and arrogantly …. And went on saying you are just guests and I AM “THE MANAGER” …. He spoilt our whole new year celebration and forgot that in the service industry CUSTOMER IS THE KING and he is there to service them and not the other way round …. Further the hotel is not so great … the lobby lights are completely switched off at high with 2 dim lights at the far end of the lobby which gives the hotel a spooky look and feel even the rooms are not that clean. the breakfast menu is not so great with less variety over all the rating for the hotel from us would be 2 but because of the ARROGANT AJI JOHN AND THE RECEPTION STAFF BEHAVIOUR RATING WOULD BE “ZERO” when we asked for the owners or higher ups names to escalate this bad behaviour they refused to give the names and said go find the owner his name is only Bhaskar no last name no number no

Stayed two nights. Good location within walking distance of the major attractions. Spacious, clean room. Amenities included mini-fridge, electric kettle and laptop-size safe. Well located power sockets. Comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom with large shower cabin and good water pressure. Two negatives about the shower: no shelf space (so all toiletries have to go on the floor) and shower door closing poorly and leaking water on the bathroom floor. Good breakfast buffet. Excellent wifi.

Good rooms.........!!!!!!!!!!! Location nice.......!!!!!!!!!! Great break fast.......!!!!!!!!!! Good ambience.......!!!!!!!!!! Enjoyed our stay...... But the pool was not operational as we were travelling with kids so had booked this hotel primary for leisure

This is the 2rd time I am staying in this hotel. The rooms are comfortable with the basic needs. It is a pity that this 3 star hotel doesn’t have USB ports in the rooms. Whereas most 3 star hotels in India have them My stay was for a day this time. I chose the room price that did not include Continental Breakfast. The difference of price between breakfast and no breakfast. I am glad I chose no breakfast as the Restaurant Surguru just around the corner from this hotel (5 mins walk) has excellent choice of South Indian breakfast full of taste costing less than 200 rupees per person.
