Best travelodge I've stayed in. Recently refurbished room which was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Views of the mountains from the window. It was nice and quiet. It's only a small hotel so no facilities other than a vending machine but that's all you need from a budget hotel. It's very close to supermarkets and cafes. Beautiful snowdonia location. Would 100% stay here again and all for £40 a night, it was a complete bargain!

outstanding!! kindness from staff and flexibility and a quire night's sleep. Room was clean and tidy and everything worked well. Extra tea coffee not an issue from very polite front desk staff. Car parking is very safe and ample.

Starting with positives: The location was superb, being just on the outskirts of Porthmadog, allowing easy travelling to North and mid-Wales. Ample car parking on site which was free. The lady on the front desk whom with dealt with most often from our Tuesday check-in to Friday check-out was lovely. Although no food on site, there were plenty of places to eat locally, and also at least three major supermarkets within a mile. To finish the positives, dogs allowed. Unfortunately now to the 'downside': The state of the room when we checked in was nothing short of revolting. Dusty, tv remote control covered in 'gunk', lentils (?) on the floor, filth in the bathroom; I doubt the room had been PROPERLY cleaned for WEEKS. There was no other room available for us to change to, and so as we headed straight out for food, the lovely lady on reception went into the room and cleaned. Much better, but still far from what was expected. We drove to Tesco in Porthmadog, and bought our own cleaning products to make the room a little more acceptable. What makes this even more galling is that we paid £60 to bring our dogs to the hotel, as they create extra work for cleaners!! I wonder if whomever stripped room 214 today, Friday 29th August, realised that the bed hadn't even been slept in? We both decided to sleep on top on a fleece blanket we had brought with us. At approaching £400 for three nights, wi-fi, breakfasts, and the dogs, yes, it was not the most expensive stay, but I would still expect cleanliness to be of high importance.

Although set in a quiet area, was very handy for Tesco, Lidl and Aldi. Good breakfast cafe only minutes away. Town centre very close, great place to stay as a base for travelling around the area.

Spent anight while working next door. The bed was fine, and so the cleanliness, but I needed a good Wifi to download files and the mobile reception is non existing on the spot. To start with, there is a one entry limited time free Wifi, but once you need more...pay. The last time I had to pay for Wifi in a hotel was back in 2010 in China which was also not so common then. OK, I paid but the Wifi is very poor. Slow and disconnects every few minutes and one needs to connect back. I called the Wifi provider, waited 20 minutes on the line and gave up. Once speaking the the recepionist in charge, I was told that it is the provider's fault and not tralelodge's. So...Never again.

If you’re looking for a no frills basic stay then the travel lodge is for you, the room was clean and well maintained. The travelodge is on an industrial estate but close to the town centre, within walking distance. The rooms were very warm but a fan was provided.

Standard Travelodge facilities near the centre of the town. There are no food options at the hotel (other then a basic breakfast food box), however this is a very short walk from Lidl and Aldi, to pick up snacks. Note this hotel allows dogs.

We visited Porthmadog for a 2 night golf trip. Hotel was clean and quiet, bed comfortable and staff friendly and efficient. It was a 10 minute walk to the local pubs, shops and restaurants but this was no problem.

A comfortable stay with very pleasant staff close to the local town centre and supermarkets. We felt valued and our needs were met.

Travel Lodge have overtaken Premier hotels for matress comfort. Well done. PREMIER SHOT THEMSELVES IN THE FOOT WHEN THEY CHANGED MATRESS SUPPLIES. TRAVELODGE NOW GIVE CUSTOMERS A GREAT NIGHTS SLEEP.

I was using the hotel as a base for walking the coastal path for which I needed to be near the railway station, and it turned it to be only 6 minutes walk away, with a Go Outdoors and Lidl close by. Once I'd parked my car in the free car park, I didn't need to move it during my stay. I was leaving early each morning so was buying food on the way out and I didn't need any breakfast service. The room was clean and comfortable, the WiFi was good, and the staff were helpful. The view wasn't great at the back of the hotel but I wasn't there for the view anyway. It was exactly what I needed, somewhere convenient and comfortable to come back to at the end of a days walking.

The room was simply too hot due to the weather. TL provided a fan, however this was insufficient to deal with the 30+ degree temperature in the room. Windows require solar film and heat reflective curtains. Have used Porthmadog before, perfectly good, never again in a hot spell.
