The inn is in a lovely old neighborhood. Both innkeepers were very pleasant and generous with their time and recommendations, which was very appreciated. My ensuite room was spacious and comfortable once I adjusted the radiators. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. However, there was very little honey left in the dispenser (took forever to dispense!); even when I asked for more, very little was added by the fill-in innkeeper. By the 2nd day of my stay, there was only Stevia left; the other sweeteners were never replenished. As it was a chilly weekend, my friend and I had multiple cups of tea and neither of us likes Stevia. As an innkeeper myself, I try to make sure that everything available to guests (K-Cups, tea bags, a variety of sweeteners, creamers) is replenished multiple times a day. Always having plenty of everything available is very important to guests' satisfaction level. I thought it was a shame that such an elegant old house was decorated in such a modern fashion. I understand that's the trend these days, but it really doesn't go with or honor the era in which the home was built. The decor was well-coordinated, just not to my taste. Guess that's why they make chocolate and vanilla ice cream, right? ;) Overall, I enjoyed my stay but, if I return to Portland, I believe I'll opt to stay in town so that I don't have to drive everywhere. Thanks for the opportunity to review your inn and for making my stay (mostly) enjoyable.
