Sehr schönes Gästehaus/Hotel in Pretoria. Keine Citylage aber alles sehr liebevoll eingerichtet. Das Essen war etwas schlicht, aber gut. Der Aussenpool ist leider nicht beheizt. Die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich.

Très bel établissement, chambre, magnifique ainsi que l’extérieur, un petit palais concernant le restauration est bonne, mais le service laisse quand même un peu à désirer très long hôtel vraiment fabuleux et doit être bien sûr en couple fantastique

Le Castello du Monte est un véritable joyau. Niché dans un cadre exceptionnel, il offre un point de vue à couper le souffle. Les chambres sont spacieuses, cosy et élégamment décorées, avec des terrasses privées et des salons qui ajoutent une touche de luxe et d'intimité. La table est tout simplement remarquable, avec des repas dignes des plus grands chefs. Un séjour parfait dans un lieu de rêve où tout est pensé pour offrir un confort absolu et une expérience inoubliable.

Came to relax here after Rovos train trip. It was very nosy. Could not sleep. Very few hotel guests as they have only 7 rooms but unfortunately this hotel arranges Big parties for guests from outside. Therefore there was a Big party at lunchtime and yet an even bigger party at evening where celebrations find place. Terrible . When we asked if they could do someting they showed us a cheaper room downstairs, looked like a basement. Also here was noisy right up to a shared sofaroom and parking. Worse was they wanted us to pay same Price as the other room even though it was cheaper categori. Please Be careful if you book this hotel and need a good nights sleep. You Will not get it.

Understand Ett fantastiskt boende! Andra gången vi bor här och återkommer om en vecka. Perfekt för en mellanlandning när man ska vidare. Lunch och middag var jättebra men frukost var inte av samma standard tyvärr.

Beautiful place, well kept, friendly and service minded staff. Huge bedroom and bathroom with both showers and bathtub. Great food was served, kitchen staff open for changes in menu. Surfaces were clean but are a bit worn out, it is probably time for some refurbishing.

Lovely place, nice food and forthcoming staff. The room was spacious and neat. Also the views from the hotel is lovely. Thank you!

Arrived 16/11/2025 to 17/11/2025 and booked for dinner but was a bit disappointed in the quality of the food which wasn’t too great that evening in the large dining room area- the table wasn’t even laid with 3 placemats, no wine glasses, no knives,forks or spoons, no small plates with butter knives or any salt and pepper. We had wine but had to pour it ourselves while having dinner after it was poured in the first time. We ordered 3 butternut soup but it came with blah nearly untoasted bruschetta- the soup was almost cold but was a bit eatable - then we ordered chicken roulade stuffed with cream cheese and spinach (you could hardly taste the cream cheese and the chicken was totally tasteless), then we asked for Prawn Bruschetta (which was better than the soup and chicken), the dessert was panna cotta (the panna cotta was sitting on top of some cake which had no taste and the panna cotta was also a bit tasteless ) maybe change the recipe to a flavoursome panna cotta that will taste better. We had to ask for everything that evening and the staff was very unorganised. The breakfast was not so great but a bit eatable and your pastries was cold and not warmed up. Please change your suppliers of eggs and bacon and your bread as it wasn’t great and had a weird taste. Get your pastries from Lucky Bread Company or order them from The Pantry on 16th Street. We had our croissant fix there and it was delicious and excellent. On Our 2nd check-in from 18/11/2025-and departing on the 21/11/2025. And as for the noise every evening as guests were finished eating and your staff putting everything away and locking up the doors - the noise they made by talking so hard to each other that they had no consideration for the guests staying at the guesthouse (everyone was trying to sleep after a long and busy day) MAYBE the staff must speak softer to one another. When they arrive early in the morning to lock open the guesthouse doors it was just as noisy. Your fruit, muesli and yoghurt was delicious and so were the croissants and danish (but on the Thursday 20/11/2025 morning - see pictures attached for the dinner and breakfast. everything was terrible including the coffee, your cheese were uneatable and your muffins, croissants and danish). We had to eat a croissant and drink coffee at Lucky Bread Company. If all that I have written to you can change we will maybe stay there again. The rooms are big and spacious and the beds and pillows are very comfortable. Just a pity about the electricity that went off every evening to watch tv. The very first time we stayed there the dinner was excellent and the service was good too so I’m not sure what happened on our second visit that everyone was a bit disorganised. It’s very disappointing to know that it’s such a good guesthouse but the management of the staff is terrible.

Sometimes you stay in a hotel that just doesn’t fulfill its appearance and Costello di Monte was such a hotel. Lacks atmosphere and service in restaurant was painfully slow. On entering our room we found the ac set at 30 degrees and the bathroom underfloor heating so hot you couldn’t walk on it.
