瓦特克魯夫水舍旅館(Waterhouse Guest Lodge in Waterkloof)

Perfect with little kids. We stayed in the two bedroom house with tatched roof. The garden is very well kept and the area is quiet and peaceful - It's perfect for little children to explore. You don't really hear the cars on the wilhelmina road. Houses are very clean. We all enjoyed it fully and slept well. Staff also exceptional. We will return.

The lodge is in a beautiful safe neighbourhood of Pretoria in proximity to Brooklyn mall. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is satisfactory for a short term stay. We especially enjoyed the peacefulness and beauty of our terrace.

We had a most disappointing stay at this guesthouse. We specifically booked a room with a bath (not a shower). This had been checked and confirmed. When we arrived we discovered that we had been allocated a room with a shower - no bath. No explanation was offered nor any resolution attempted. The staff member on duty was uninterested and ineffectual. The room was dingy and cramped. The lack of a central ceiling light made getting ready difficult. Linen felt old and worn. The tables and chairs set out in the lovely garden surrounds were spoilt by dirty ashtrays. A frog croaking through the night was the last straw. We left in the morning.

Beautiful property wich creates a restful and serene atmosphere, with tranquil water features. It didn't feel as if I was in the city. The personal, professional and welcoming service from Chantel was reassuring and contributed to my decision to stay with them.

Our second visit to Waterhouse on Lawley in 5 years and again did not disappoint. If you are visiting from elsewhere in the country or abroad, this is an ideal facility to stay and meet friends and family. Mood is warm and welcoming; gardens are lush and well-kept and thatch roofs in the upper units are gorgeous. Units are self-catering and well stocked and visitors are free to use indoor and outdoor facilities to host a larger number of visitors. This place is ideal if you need ample private and personal space and want to avoid the crowds in malls and restaurants. There are great restaurants, like Zest Bistro, close by, if fine dining is your preference. We again booked adjacent units called Joy (sleeps 3) and Fun and Play (sleeps 4). Joy unit opens to a cozy private veranda where a group of people can socialize all day long. Friends who were not keen on travelling at night, appreciated and enjoyed this arrangement of staying over with us. Suburb is secured if you need to walk or jog. Staff are fabulous and accommodating and were happy to arrange a very late checkout at short notice. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the most beautiful and quiet guesthouse I have ever stayed is. The rooms are cozy, the veranda is a bliss, and the gardens are absolutely beautiful. And of course, the kitty cat also came to say Hi. What a cute little cat.

We had a wonderful experience staying at Waterhouse Guest Lodge. The staff, especially Chantel and the cleaning staff at Lawley, were very helpful and friendly. The venue facilities made it possible for us to have a BBQ with our family in the most beautiful outdoor area. The rooms, kitchen and dining ares were very clean and comfortable. I stayed at the waterkloof guesthouse. I thought I had been booked into one of the other properties. Not having a car it wasn’t the best of places to stay in Pretoria. To get to the nearest supermarket was a 20 minute walk or an Uber ride. As I was staying for two weeks, I was given a cottage. It was full of old furniture - far too much for my liking - even the small bathroom had a large wooden cabinet. I wouldn’t call this a boutique place - the cottage could do with some refurbishing. It’s very dark inside and it lacks soft lighting - the living room has bright ceiling lights. When I arrivecthere was no shower curtain and the kitchen light was broken. They quickly sorted this. The microwave’s glass plate was not original so it didn’t turn and didn’t heat food properly. The kitchen also lacks basic things like a colander and utensils. There’s a tv but it only offered Netflix no live tv. The cottage was also very cold as it doesn’t have double glazing or central heating - only an aircon. I had breakfast for most of my stay but it was mostly brought to my room because of other guests taking up the dining room. I got bored with it by the end and so bought my own. The cottage had a nice terrace and there’s a lovely cat on the premises. If you have a car and stay for a few days it’s a good place but if I were to spend again a week or longer on Pretoria I’d stay somewhere closer to shops and restaurants.
