I booked a room at this hotel in May, 2021, for 2 dates September 10 and 11, during a busy town festival time. I always book early, as the 4 hotels in this town tend to all fill up as the festival gets closer. I got an e mail from Econo Lodge on September 5th, confirming my reservation, and said how they were looking forward to seeing me. . The next day I got a call from a friend who was also staying at the hotel the same weekend. He had just gotten a call from this hotel, telling him his reservation was cancelled, without any good explanation. He had booked his room in May 2021 as well. He was told that for some reason about 15 different room reservations were being canceled. I immediately went to check my reservation on line, and to my shock and surprise, my reservation was cancelled as well. I never received any phone call or e mail about this. I called corporate to complain, and they were helpful, but told me they could not help me with a room, even though they did take the time to call the hotel, but could not give me reason why the reservation was canceled. So I guess they just expected me(if I had not checked my reservation) to just show up only to find my reservation was cancelled, with no where to stay, with every hotel in town filled. From what my friend was told, there are likely 13 other families they will likely experience the same type of poor treatment and service. A corporate complaint was filed with Choice Hotels.
