阿梅納諾酒店(Amenano Apartments)

Sono stato in questo specie di (B&b), all’arrivo in camera ho trovato cacca di topi sulle lenzuola e nella doccia, cuscini gialli e che puzzavano, ho chiamato agli addetti e ci hanno detto che gli dispiaceva e per scusare e per paura ci hanno fatto andare via pregandoli di non prendere provvedimenti… non andateci, PS: LAVATEVI LA BOCCA CHE VI FA PUZZA l’alito!!! Vergognatevi ladri FATE SCHIFO!!! Vergogna!!

Ambiente curato, pulito e confortevole in un palazzo storico. Comodissimo perchè centrale ma silenzioso. Visiti Catania senza bisogno dell'auto. Assolutamente consigliato e anche il rapporto qualità-prezzo ci è sembrato ottimo.

Stanza perfetta, curata nei minimi dettagli e soprattutto insonorizzata! Il nostro soggiorno a Catania presso il B&B è’ stato ottimo. La struttura e’ centralissima e a pochi metri dalla bellissima via Etnea. In pochissimo tempo si raggiunge il famoso mercato del pesce, e con pochi minuti di passeggiata raggiungerete le restanti mete. Intorno vi sono moltissimi ristoranti ove poter gustare la cucina siciliana. Faccio i miei complimenti al proprietario per la struttura. Il sig Carmelo e’ stato gentilissimo e molto accogliente, e ci ha saputo consigliare molto bene per la nostra gita sull’Etna. Vivamente consigliato a tutti!

Ho modificato la prenotazione al telefono con il proprietario senza passare per la piattaforma iniziale con la quale avevo prenotato. In accordo con il proprietario stesso sembrava essere andato tutto a buon fine. Il giorno del check-in lo chiamo e con toni arroganti, in dialetto stretto, mi dice che la camera non c'è più e che era colpa mia perchè, anche se avevo rispettato gli accordi presi al telefono, avevo mancato di fare qualcosa. La telefonata si conclude con una "cornetta sbattuta in faccia" e il mio numero di telefono probabilmente bloccato. Ora, anche ammesso che non ci siamo capiti, non sono questi i modi di trattare le persone. Anche perchè mi la lasciato scoperte 3 notti.

Non c’è nessun interesse da parte del proprietario per i clienti cerca sempre di aumentare il prezzo ogni volta fa prezzi sempre diversi aumentando cifre ridicole. Lenzuola e asciugamani sporchi e macchiati. Pulizia minima. Colazione inesistente in cucina comune sporca e confezioni aperte non igienico. La Televisione non c’è. Phone su richiesta e non funzionante dopo una giornata di attesa. Prese non funzionanti la maggior parte. Letti vecchi non siamo riusciti a dormire. Siamo rimasti chiusi fuori di notte dopo aver chiamato 100 volte il proprietario è suonato tutti i citofoni senza alcuna risposta. La cosa più grave è che le chiavi delle camere sono tutte uguali quindi tutte le chiavi di ogni porta del b&b aprono tutte le porte 0 sicurezza. Riferito subito ma senza alcuna soluzione. Mai più !

So we are currently staying here (our final night) and I am surprised by some of the negative reviews as we have really really loved it here and for what we paid I really do believe this place is excellent value! Due to a fire at Catania airport we arrived really late with 2 young children. The family who own this don’t speak English (but I don’t speak Italian so why should they?) but when I called to explain how late we would be (just before midnight) the man said email. When I emailed he replied quickly and just said keep him updated but it was okay. When we arrived he kept check in short and sweet and said he wanted cash payment but it was fine to do it later. The air con in our room has been a total dream (it’s 43 degrees out you need it). We had a shared bathroom but for the first 3 nights had it to ourselves and I think each floor shares so you aren’t sharing with many people at all. You have your own balcony with chairs. The rooms, kitchen and bathroom in this place are spotless! They are constantly cleaning. It is first place abroad at this time of year I have travelled (we go away a lot and do travelling trips so not staying in one hotel) and not seen a single insect inside at all. The Wi-Fi is good. I know some people have mentioned location not feeling safe but we were two women, two kids and I would say generally Catania is a little sketchy but this area isn’t any worse than the rest of it. My toddler son was sick one night and we ended up having to ***** his bed completely. I explained this to the cleaner with some actions. She brought him a new bed, helped me put it on, changed our bin…. Couldn’t have asked for more. The breakfast is basic but is out all day as all non-perishables so they have; French toast, cereal, UHT milk, fruit filled croissants, breakfast biscuits and a coffee machine that makes the best coffee ever. The roof garden is amazing! Views of Etna and the castle. We got take away pizza to eat up there. Was a trampoline for kids plus despite being rooftop had high sides so kids were not unsafe although did ban them from going up to ultra high bit by themselves. Got some great pictures up there with Etna in background. The boys also loved the hotel cats who we nicknamed good kitty and bad kitty that live in roof garden. As for the key confusion that has been mentioned by some…. We had it too but owner walked us through (as couldn’t talk us through with language barrier) our mistake. Basically, hotel original entrance is around back where you go to check in. Your keys then open a side door nearer front of hotel and the door to your floor but not the door you checked in at. We stood there for like 20 minutes on first day thinking our keys didn’t work on door before he explained. I think there is a sign on door that explains it but it’s in Italian so we didn’t get the memo. Overall, we loved it! Would totally recommend!

The room is very nice and spacious. Comfortable bed and very good bathroom facilities. We didn't have the breakfast option so can't comment on that but the host is very considerate so it would probably be good It was lovely to stay in a traditional Sicilian house. 50 steps to the front door so if you aren't physically fit, this might not be for you. Close to the bus station and the train station. Can't comment on parking.

We stayed here for four nights. The location is excellent and the room itself is nice, everything works alright. Room is ventilated and spacious and toilet clean. The owner is not easy to reach. He told us we have to pay in cash and to come pay him the next day. The next day comes and he doesnt answer any of the office cell phone numbers. Finally at 7pm we reach him by shouting to him from the inside yard. We had to help other guests find the right places because the owner gave them confusing directions. There is a lady in the neighbouring building that shouts and screams almost non stop every day, breaks glasses etc. which is disturbing to me at least. The key is same to every door so no safety there.
