The Marco Vincent Resort was a great experience, and everyone at the resort was excellent, and I made good friends with some of the people there. I especially want to thank the divemaster Marlon for the great dives and his friendship, and also the manager Riza for her excellent work to make our stay fun and comfortable. And the food was fantastic. The only suggestion I have is that I think there should be more days at Verde Island.

After five days of diving here, I could not be more impressed. I’m a travel agent, and a diver since 1983, so I’ve seen resorts all over the world: Marco Vincent is my new favorite. RESORT: Tucked back a block off White Beach in Puerto Galera, the resort is built around a central courtyard with a lovely pool. Thirty-eight good-sized rooms, all with AC, tvs, and mini-fridges. Beds are comfortable. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Basic toiletries provided. Blazing-fast WiFi in the rooms and common areas. Restaurant and conference room on site. Not fancy, not pretentious, exactly what you want in a dive resort. Perfect for dive groups. They are in the process of building an additional resort less than 10 minutes away at their boat dock. This is scheduled to open sometime in late 2024. It will have 22 all-oceanfront rooms and suites, a restaurant, oceanside pool, and rooftop infinity pool with a bar. This is a PADI 5 Star facility. Dive packages are for 7 or 10 days, and are great value for the money. In May and June they offer a two-week trip that includes one week on a liveaboard at Tubbataha followed by several days at the resort. STAFF: Staff members are caring and personable, and treat you like family from the moment you walk through the door. Many wear multiple hats here, for example, Von in the lobby will check you in, then entertain you in the evenings with a cultural presentation or dance performance. By the time we left, we felt like we had made many new friends. FOOD: This resort is all-inclusive with a variety of Western and local options each day. Multicourse meals with delicious homemade soup, appetizer, entrée and dessert. Everything we ate was tasty. Filtered water available anytime you want it. You will not go hungry here. BOAT: The “Big Beth” is the nicest dive boat I’ve ever been on. Modeled after a traditional “bangka,” it has large stabilization wings on either side. Upper deck with bean bag chairs for relaxing and taking in the views. Main deck has plenty of space for 20+ divers. Cushioned seating on each side. Separate camera rinse tank and indoor charging area for batteries. Inside seating for lunch, which is served in three courses and prepared by an onboard chef. Toilet, filtered water, coffee station, and two rinse hoses with warm water for showering post dive. The resort has two smaller boats as well, but we did not go out on either of these. This is concierge service beyond what I have encountered anywhere else. Not only do they set up your gear for you and switch out tanks between dives, they also put your fins on your feet, defog your mask, and help you in and out of your wetsuit. There is a whole team of guys who are busy attending to each client’s needs. When you emerge from the water, they immediately start taking gear off you, then rush to present you with a hot towel and a cup of ginger tea. You basically just stand there while they do everything. My husband and I made our fourth visit to this wonderful resort in June 2023. The service and hospitality continue to be outstanding! We stayed on the first floor next to the wonderful pool. The room was comfortable, and everything was clean. The chef prepared superb, delicious meals presented artistically throughout our stay. Several special dinners included homemade ice cream, barbeque, fireworks, and folk dancers from a local high school. Wi-Fi was free and fast. The large "Big Beth" diving boat is the best in the area, and the chef prepared excellent hot lunches on board. Hot cloths, ginger tea, a shower, and a towel were provided on the boat after every dive. Dive and hotel staff were extremely helpful throughout our visit, and excellent accommodations for dietary concerns and disabled individuals are available (suggest advance request/inquiry) both at the hotel and for diving (such as entry and exit from the water). We stayed 6 nights and enjoyed 5 days of diving, including one day diving the world class Verde Island protected reef area teeming with diverse sea life. Other diving sites in the Puerto Galera area included a wide variety of ocean habitats, and even though this was our fourth visit, we saw new critters we had not seen before. This is a photographer's paradise with so much diverse sea life to photograph underwater, two camera rinse tanks and charging capability on the "Big Beth", and a dedicated camera room with charging capability at the hotel. When we arrived, we received a written agenda for the week including planned diving sites (subject of course to conditions), and at checkout, we received a written log describing the sites we actually dove. We very much look forward to returning to dive and photograph there again!

Recently returned from a scuba diving trip to Marco Vincent Dive Resort, Puerto Galera, Mindoro Island, Philippines, what a very enjoyable trip. For me, this was by personal 70th birthday celebration trip. The resort arranged ground and water transportation from Manila to the resort so all I had to do was board vehicles, ride, sit back and view the scenery with my dive buddy. When we arrived at the resort we went to the café, completed the necessary paperwork and ate lunch. Lunch and dinner meals all started with some form of soup (never knew I would like pumpkin soup, but there you have it; my favorite was the vegetable soup, 2-bowls). After lunch off to the room to unpack scuba gear, which was placed in a crate outside the door for staff to retrieve, take to the boat and set up your kit. A shower and nap and then a dive in-service in the café at 1800 hours and dinner. The staff are always smiling and happy to assist you immediately. Chen in the café is a real pleasure to see in the morning with coffee and a big smile on her face at 0630. In the evening Chen is there to greet you for dinner, still with that big smile on her face. As for the accommodations; I have read several reviews seeming to compare this dive resort to places like Waldorf hotels, not the same. This resort is best-suited for scuba divers. However there are plans for a bigger, better and nicer resort for those wanting that sort of ambiance; due to open in 2024. I am certain that will be pricier than current. (Talking to the owner, plans are to have both open for your particular pleasure/choices.) Now onto the most important part, the DIVING!! We did three-dives per day, two morning and one afternoon; a fresh, hot lunch was always prepared on the boat. The boat, Big Beth, is a very spacious boat, able to accommodate up to 30 divers, I think. Marlon and Sherwin are the two dive masters leading the underwater adventures. Marlon gives a very good pre-dive site briefing, with a map, of the dive site (take a photo so you will remember where you went). We dove Nitrox and every tank was checked for %O2 and pressure before each dive. Once in the water, both Marlon and Sherwin are on the hunt for those tiny creatures you want to see; like pigmy seahorses, octopus, nudibranch and various fishes. We saw a lot of different creatures there, so many photos to go through and to post later. Hoping my dive buddy, will post her best ones, she is so much better at photos than I am. There can be currents, as suspected, when the tide changes, but just drift along and enjoy the scenery and keep track of Marlon and Sherwin, they will show you new creatures. I recommend you bring along a scuba diving pointing stick to help slow you down to take photos. After your last dive of the trip Marlon and Sherwin thoroughly rinse your dive gear, inside and out, with fresh water. They will hang up rash guards/skins to dry (they will also do this nightly if left on Big Beth). Your dive gear will be returned to you

An experience of a lifetime! I went to get scuba certified not knowing what to expect, and wow was it incredible. The staff were some of the kindest people I've ever met and the diving was out of this world.

My wife stayed a couple of nights with a group of friends in the hotel, it so happened that she had her birthday on her first day in the hotel. I contacted the hotel in hope that they can organize a surprise cake for her. Nathan responded in a yes, and went out of his way to make it a wonderfull experience for her. He sent me photos of the cake and videos of how they surprised my wife, he brought his wife and the entire staff of the hotel, put on birthday music and the entire staff danced and sang their way to my wife, cheering and clapping, singing and dancing, with the cake, flowers, balloons, making this an evening she will never forget. What Nathan and the hotel staff did was beyond my expectations. The hospitabilty, the will to help and the service were out of this world. All I wanted was a cake, the hotel made this a night to remember.

All aspects of my visit at the Marco Vincent Dive Resort were stellar. The team spoils you here. I was with a group of scuba divers and underwater photographers so my experience went well beyond the actual hotel grounds. The dive masters knew the waters well, were attentive, and safety conscious. They also had a good understanding of the local wildlife both above and below the surface. Food on board as well as back at the hotel was great and of a good variety. Mangoes were in season which was a bonus. White Beach with its bars and restaurants is 5 minutes away. On non dive days, I used the pool and explored the region. One highlight was for me was photographing the fruit bats back at Puerto Galera proper. Overall, a great experience. I hope to return!

Had the most amazing stay here with my beautiful filipina girlfriend Che ❤️ April 2025. We had a wonderful experience during our stay at Marco Vincent Dive Resort. The staff were incredibly hospitable, the service was top-notch, and everything exceeded our expectations. One of the highlights of our trip was the scuba diving experience. The dive team sir Marlon and Eman was really professional, friendly, and made sure we felt safe and comfortable at all times. The underwater scenery was absolutely breathtaking — vibrant coral reefs, an abundance of marine life, and crystal-clear waters made every dive unforgettable. This resort truly offers the perfect blend of relaxation and adventure. We’re already looking forward to our next visit. All the best

We stayed at Marco Vincent for 6 days on a dive vacation. The boat and staff were amazing. Marlon and Warren were great guides that took us to beautiful dive sites so we could find critters on our bucket list. The hotel staff is the most attentive and friendliest that we have ever had. Everyone knew us by name! The food was excellent and the entire hotel is spotless. The only thing we would change is the location . A new hotel will hopefully open in 2026 right on the beach. Right now the beach is about a 3 minute walk away.

My wife and I just got back from a one week stay at Marco Vincent Dive Resort. It was without a doubt one of the best dive experiences I have ever had. I am a former Scuba Instructor and have done a considerable amount of dive travel. Even though resort and dive boat are land based the entire operation is run more like a liveaboard. The dive boat is a large 84” outrigger design, that comes complete with a sun deck, dining room, full kitchen and ample dive deck space for up to 20 divers (we only had 5 divers during our stay). Entry was done via giant stride. Despite the boat’s size it had no issue getting to any of the local sites, or drift diving we were doing and was particularly comfortable for the longer transit to Verde island. The schedule would be a morning dive on a reef or wall, followed by a tea service between the first and second dive. After the second dive there would be a three course hot lunch, cooked on board, followed by another hour surface interval, finally the third dive of the day would typically be a “muck dive” in the harbor area. The diving in the Puerto Galera area is interesting. We came in the off season, early January. Water temperature varied between 78-80 degrees, and the visibility was on the low side, about 30-50 ft. However the biodiversity on the reefs is off the charts. The corals are very healthy with very dense patches of soft corals, and large table corals in the shallows. Fish are everywhere, and the area is a macro enthusiasts dream. There are cuttlefish, octopi, sea horses, frogfish, small coral shrimps, and dozens of species of nudibranchs in every color and pattern imaginable. As far as bigger animals go we saw plenty of turtles, sea snakes, clownfish and anemones, giant clams and large schools of fish. The afternoon muck dives were some of the most interesting. These dives would be done almost entirely over the sandy bottom, while the dive guides looked for some of the more unusual and well camouflaged critters. This is more exciting than it sounds. Our dive guide Warren was excellent, and frequently I would need to choose between photographing the ghost pipefish, stargazer, and flamboyant cuttlefish that were all sitting in the sand within 4 ft of each other. Tough choices. The other highlight was diving the coral pinnacle at Verde Island. This was a longer boat ride, about 1.5 hours from the dock, but was definitely worth the trip. Visibility here was the best we had during the trip, closer to 100 ft, and the reef itself was spectacular, with giant sea fans and corals swarmed by schools of Anthias and triggerfish, as well as large schools of Jacks and snappers swimming in the blue. As a word of warning though this is not the place to go if you are looking for large pelagics like shark or rays. The hotel itself was comfortable, but not luxurious. We were happy with the room, and the resort is kept very clean, but some of the furnishings and electronics are getting dated. The resort is not directly on

Having traveled extensively throughout the past several years I must say that the customer service at the resort and shown by every staff member on dive boat was the very highest level I’ve ever experienced. Also all the meals served on both the dive boat and at the resort were exceptional.

From the moment we were met at the airport until we left the island, the staff at Marco Vincent was outstanding. They were professional, friendly and so very helpful. There were 19 people in our group and when we arrived to check in, they knew and addressed us by name, and that was true for all of the staff, front desk, housekeeping, restaurant and dive staff. Despite the hotel being about 21 years old, it is well maintained, and our room was spotless. Service was impeccable. If there was anything we needed, all we had to do was ask. When we arrived, we were a little under the weather, as we were in contact with someone in our earlier travels who passed along a cold/flu type illness (not COVID), and they had a driver, Willie, who graciously took us to town to purchase cold and flu meds. Only when we arrived at the pharmacy, they were closed for inventory. He drove us to 2 other (grocery) stores looking for medication. They didn't charge us a thing for that service. Meals were included in our package. The food was very good and plentiful. We appreciated having American food, and really enjoyed the Filipino cuisine as well. The staff and owners, Mel and Merci take great pride in their culture and enthusiastically shared it with us. The SCUBA diving was fantastic. The dive masters were active in pointing out sea life, and it was greatly appreciated. The dive boat, Big Beth, was spacious and very comfortable. A full lunch, with soup and at least 3 entrees and dessert were served onboard each day, in addition to fresh fruit, pastries and cookies between dives. They even made sure those divers with dietary restrictions were given alternate options which were made especially for that person. Each diver had their own personalized cup, coffee/tee mug and towel. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the warm face cloth and ginger tea that awaited us after each dive...what a nice touch. Our group had much to celebrate, we had a birthday and a diver who reached 100 dives. The pastry chef made cakes for both. The dive staff celebrated with signs underwater, celebrated on the boat and back at the resort. It was such a memorable experience. I don't know that anyone can top the hospitality we received at Marco Vincent Dive Resort! I would like to thank Nathan, Elreen, Genova, Rose (?) (front desk), Sherwin, Chefs Ronald and Fred, Cindy in housekeeping who helped me with some laundry, and all of the staff who I didn't mention by name. They were all fantastic. And thanks again to Mel and Merci for your gracious hospitality. We will gladly recommend Marco Vincent to anyone and hope we can come back again and see you all in your new Puerto Galera location. From the first moment to the last...an absolutely incredible experience. I have never felt so welcomed and appreciated. The hotel staff anticipated ever need, the dive masters were attentive and informative. The owners, Mel and Mercy, were on site and led by example. It is the only Philippino owned dive shop in the area and they take great pride in sharing their culture of warmth and hospitality. The diving will be hard to beat! There really aren't enough great things to say. Loved every second of my stay and look forward to seeing their new hotel in 2026. Salamat, Tina
