The hotel is lovely,the grounds are even better, The staff are very friendly, The downside was that the meals are quite expensive and the breakfast was nice but mostly cold even when they were just brought from the kitchen , The location was a bit out of the way,but the Tarca railway line is only a short walk albeit quite dangerous as no paths on quite a busy road.

We are 4 friends who regularly meet for lunch and like to try local places. We were tempted by the Cream tea for £7.50 each. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed. We were presented with two very generous bowls, one of clothed cream & one of Jam, then a plate with 4 tiny cold scones. Considering the size of the bowls of cream and Jam we were expecting more scones to follow. However when we asked, we were told we could have more scones at a cost of £1.50 each. I know thats not a lot, but the whole thing was out of proportion. There was a lot of cream and jam left and 4 hungry disappointed ladies.

Really nice hotel, Attentive staff and good clean rooms, would suggest superior room as great size and large bed. Food was excellent, the breakfast was buffet with hot English available along with fruit etc. Evening meals also a very good standard. Nice grounds which lead down to the local river , just need good weather !! Be aware dogs are allow in restaurant's and some rooms but were never an issue for us. Hotel would appear to cater for older community as little for anyone with children to do however maybe that changes in the school holidays . Would recommend totally and would return. PS, plenty of car parking available.

We have just left a two night stay in the treehouse and have been blown away by its comfort, uniqueness and location. The treehouse is overlooking a beautiful lake with Ducks and ducklings We were blessed by the good weather which also made our experience even better. If you are considering staying here, book! You will not be disappointed. Tom, the Manager could not do enough to accommodate us. Thank you! There are two bedrooms although it maybe a little cramped with four if weather wet. There is a fully equipped kitchen with all amenities and they even supplied bread, milk, butter, jam tea and coffee etc. The main bedroom was warm and cosy with very comfortable bed leading onto a beautiful bathroom with an oversized copper bath and separate shower. Body gel, shampoos and body lotion all being supplied. All in all, we have had the most amazing stay and cannot recommend it enough.

Have not stayed here before but would certainly go back. Very friendly and efficient staff. The food was excellent, not an extensive menu but very well prepared and served. Room was entirely satisfactory but did not rate 5 stars. Hotel is in a lovely location, pretty much in the middle of nowhere which suits us but would not suit everyone

My wife and I attended an event at the hotel but decided to arrive a day early to treat ourselves to a meal and break. Fantastic suite, wonderful staff, and even though we were expecting the food to be great it outdid our expectations again. Best weekend of the year (as it was at last year's event too) and can't wait to get back there! Thank you to Matt and everybody!

After our second stay at the Fox and Hound Country hotel I can say that the amazing experience we had first time around was no fluke, the service and attention to detail in this charming hotel was exceptional and you really are made to feel like one of the family. We stayed in the Eggesford Suite which features a huge bed and a bath even this 6ft+ guest can luxuriate in. We were there for an event in which everything was thought through and catered for with lots of small touches that enhanced the experience. A Tassimo coffee maker, hot chocolates and biscuits adding a nice touch, no decaf in the room but quickly addressed with a request. The food was out of this world with everything from a high quality breakfast through to afternoon tea and dinner feeling like something specials. A great selection of drinks are on offer behind the bar with something for everyone. The only thing left is to find more excuses to visit 🤩

Really beautiful hotel with accomodating and friendly staff. We stayed for 2 nights for a board gaming event and were very well looked after throughout. The breakfast and evening meals were delicious and plentiful and catered for dietary needs. We stayed in a standard room and it was spacious and comfortable, we were slightly worried that the room may be a bit noisy with the hotel being booked out but this wasn't an issue at all. Our only regret was not getting to explore some of the grounds as the weather was so miserable for most of the time we were there.

We use this hotel for meals out and have tried breakfast, lunch, evening meals and the carvery (which is to die for) ... fantastic food topped by a welcoming and friendly owner who employs what are possibly the best staff I have ever encountered. From start to finish the whole experience has been nothing but fantastic .... give this place a go - you wont be disappointed!!
