Discovering a dining gem is a rare delight, and last night, we stumbled upon just that. This place offers a harmonious blend of a well-curated menu, culinary excellence, and staff who are not only friendly but also genuinely engaging. In the culinary landscape of North Devon, quality spots are few and far between, yet this establishment undoubtedly tops our list. Its charm and quality have secured our return visit. Stayed here with my partner recently and the hotel was fantastic. There was a member of staff on the reception desk to greet us when we checked in who was warm and inviting. We were given a tour and shown to our room which was spacious and comfortable, but had an unusual name. The scones are some of the best we’ve ever had and the service was exceptional. Emily kindly brought us everything we needed and frequently made sure we were looked after and was very friendly. We decided to have dinner in the evening while staying at the hotel and the food was exceptional. The beef was deliciously tender and well cooked and the deserts were all to die for. A bald gentlemen was polite and friendly and looked after us well, often making jokes with us and the surrounding guests. Tegan was extremely professional and made us feel very welcomed and looked after. She ensured we were looked after all night from unfolding our napkins for us to making us tea and coffee at the end of the evening. Harry was a very kind and polite gentleman who was extremely sweet, and made us feel at home. The younger staff in the hotel are fantastic and amazingly professional and hard working for their age. The managers also seem very friendly and professional. And aren’t too cold and hard with guests. Overall, our stay was fantastic and I would urge anyone passing by or looking to go away to stay in the hotel and try the food on offer. Im sure we will be back soon!

Overall enjoyed our time here. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff, lovely room. Best thing was the spa, really relaxing and staff friendly and attentive. Good massage. Food also good although some issues with being seated (raised in morning and felt staff were a bit defensive). Breakfast was not the best (such as half a burnt croissant with bacon and cheese). We were quite full from the night before to breakfast wasn’t a huge problem for us. Enjoyed our time here and would come again, especially for the spa which was beautiful and had lovely views.

We hardly dare write this as everyone will go ! We've had yet another fabulous 4 nights at Northcote Manor. The welcome and care is beyond words. The food just wonderful and my allergies not the slightest problem. To dress smartly for dinner makes it extra special. The beds ,pillows and towels fabulous. All the staff are friendly and make you feel you belong ..then Simon is indescribable...full of fun and banter which we really like..... Log fires..subtle music...wonderful grounds... superb spa if you want to use it ... we can't wait to return ... Thank you all .

This is a wonderful hotel set in delightful grounds well away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The service provided by the staff was, in every situation, outstanding and faultless. They all function as an amazing team and proved to be most helpful about elements of the hotel and aspects of the wider community. The food was excellent - cooked to perfection and presented with style. I have a problem with what I can eat and how best to eat certain things. Nothing was too much trouble to make certain that I was assured of 100% satisfaction. The accommodation and public areas were spotless and well cared for. We slept well in a large and comfortable bed. We met a couple who were there for the third time just because they love staying at Northcote Manor. That says a lot, with which we agree. It is a lovely place to just chill out and to enjoy all the bird song. We wish to thank everyone for a great service and to Mitchell for his wit and wisdom. We could not have wished for better.

Really not impressed. A lot went wrong. Took a very long time between courses which I know isn’t unusual but….. it was too long. Wrong dishes came out . There was a dish that came out tartar and where there was nothing in the description that described it as being raw meat. The deserts took 35 minutes to come out so we got offered a cheese course as an apology but then that took so long to come that we just got up and asked for the bill. It was poor.

Beautiful hotel set in lovely countryside surroundings. First class food and service. Lovely rooms and the staff cannot do enough for you. Special thanks to barman Mitchell and our young waiter Harry. Lovely Spa attached with amazing views. Highly recommend for a quiet break away.

Beautiful manor , beautiful furniture and decor in keeping with the house. Service impeccable, staff all very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast very well presented. Evening meals superb , very fine quality, serving staff very attentive. The grounds are kept to a high standard and a lovely setting for relaxing

The best hotel we have stayed in near Barnstaple in the years we have been visiting elderly parents. The setting is beautiful, the atmosphere relaxing and uncrowded and the food sublime. The spa was a little hot and the jacuzzi almost too hot, but the views were outstanding and the pool and spa/steam room spot on. Our room looked over the front garden/drive to the hills and we felt totally looked after throughout our 2 night stay. The food was excellent and a quality menu to suit all tastes, with some lovely canapés to start. We found the murals in the restaurant very interesting. This was our first long car journey in our electric vehicle and the spa has a charger which made the trip even more relaxing as we knew we could charge up and get home without stopping on route. The combination of a modern spa, ev charger with the "stately" manor house was a perfect combination and we will certainly return.
