We loved our stay at the Mama Cuchara hotel. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. It was nice to be greeted by enthusiastic staff and a welcome glass of spiced juice when we arrived. The room we had was very clean and a perfect size for two of us. The bathroom was also a good size. The provided breakfast had a good variety and, again, the service staff were very attentive and polite. I would definitely stay here again!

Quisiera escribir esta reseña sobre nuestra segunda estadía en este magnífico hotel agradeciéndoles por su atención durante nuestras vacaciones en Quito. Desde el inició las personas de la recepción Katherine, Dennis, y señores que trabajan en la seguridad del hotel fueron atentos, muy cordiales y profesionales con nosotros. La habitación siempre estuvo muy impecable, y organizada durante toda nuestra estadía. Quisiéramos agradecer a Michaela, y Dino quienes nos atendieron de una manera excepcional durante el desayuno y cena. Todo el personal del hotel fue estupendo, e hicieron de nuestra estancia en Quito una experiencia inolvidable.

The staff at Mama Cuchara went above and beyond to ensure their guests have the best experience. You really receive 5 star service here. The staff are always at the front door to welcome you, available for any needs and able to keep track of when the guests are leaving and always offer to have boxed breakfasts if you are traveling early. They always want to make sure you are fed! Ivan worked a lot during our stay and was so helpful. The rooms are beautiful and there’s a restaurant and roof top bar. Dino, the bartender provided the best service we’ve ever had with dining. He was so kind and eager for us to have a good experience. We stayed 4 nights before going to the Galápagos and then 2 nights afterwards before going home. I really can’t say enough wonderful things about the staff here.

A truly fantastic stay! I very much appreciated all the attention to detail, from the staff experience to the room and general decor. A lot of small touches made the stay extra memorable and rewarding. The location is a bit off the main old town but the hotel makes up for this in absolute charm. Very well done.

Wow! We knew this hotel got great reviews but it still exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautifully renovated with all the modern conveniences but still retains an abundance of local charm. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The hotel Is very comfortable and welcoming. The food is excellent with a beautiful restaurant in the center courtyard and a rooftop bar/restaurant with an amazing view. They have many gluten free and healthy options on the menu. The hotel is not that close to the airport so I would recommend staying more than one night. We stayed 2 nights after a Galapagos cruise and it worked out perfectly.

I want to congratulate the entire staff who were incredibly attentive and welcoming. We had delicious dinner and breakfast, the presentation and flavors were 10/10. The entire hotel was filled with art, architectural details, unique materials, colors and natural light. We had a revitalizing massage session with skilled and attentive therapists. I am definitely recommending Mama Cuchara to friends and family.

Mama Cuchara was our home base during a recent visit to Quito and the Galapagos. This boutique hotel is wonderful - clean, relatively quiet with wonderful staff. Easy walking distance to the historic downtown area of Quito, and the rooftop bar/restaurant has the most amazing views of the city. Be sure to visit amazing bartender Dino for a signature cocktail!

El día de hoy muy mal experiencia en el restaurante con el plato ají de carne, este plato tradicional no se parecía en nada a la receta quiteña

This hotel is beautiful, newly renovated with a very distinctive sense of style. Our rooms were lovely, large and comfortable, with welcome snacks and flowers. We also enjoyed the rooftop bar/restaurant and viewing platform. The staff were very warm and helpful. Our only reservation is that the hotel is in an offbeat section of the historic center, a fair hike away from the main attractions.

La atención es excelente todo el personal es muy amable, las instalaciones son muy bonitas y acogedoras, la comida muy deliciosa con productos de primera calidad. La habitación es hermosa muy acogedora.Un lugar para salir de la monotonía tener un día de descanso y aprovechar lo que nos ofrece el centro histórico ya que está muy cerca.

Hotel Mama Cuchara is in the Historical Center of Quito-walkable distance from the Plaza Santo Domingo, La Ronda, and many historical sites. Loved my room with a view of the city, delicious breakfast, the best staff, I really enjoyed my stay here.There is beautiful artwork around the hotel for the guests to enjoy

The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. They went out of their way on numerous occasions to ensure our needs were taken care of. Their attentiveness to detailed compared with our stays at the Four Seasons. Very Highly recommended.

Now the hotel has a lot of nice points: First the location that is perfect to discover Quito Old Town (just a 10 minutes walk downhill); Second the staff at reception couldn’t have been more helpful and smiling (and to them a 5 star plus…I could come back just for you guys!); Third the decor that is interesting and arty (as per the name of the hotel) albeit not at the top of my liking (but nothing with to go with my score!) Breakfast was ok (I rather prefer a buffet offering that is quick!) What let me down was actually the size of the room and bathroom!! My booking was for a Deluxe room and we had one with a wonderful view but my God…once the bed was in (very comfortable by the way) there was no room for moving and for our rather large suitcases (3 weeks travelling South America require lots of things!) and the bathroom too was rather on the small side (to put it simply!). My point is that the hotel was, unfortunately for them, rather empty and there were only one bedroom taken on the Deluxe side…all the other were open and perfectly appointed and so generously large with ample space to open suitcases and bathrooms again very very large…I have been envious of them. Frankly I couldn’t complain about mine but my stay hasn’t been comfortable as it could have been.
