Es gibt wohl 2 Kategorien in diesem Haus. Die niedrigere war eine Katastrophe: Dreckig, unhygienisch, Klimaanlage aber offenes Dachgebälk so dass die AC nutzlos war, kalte Dusche, unrenoviertes Haus, kein Wifi, cash only, Abrechnung von den Mahlzeiten sehr zweifelhaft. Aussicht aus dem Fenster auf die Klimaanlage. NIE WIEDER in dieses Haus!!!

The food served was excellent - hit all the right notes of traditional Sri Lankan cuisine. Equipped with hot water and air conditioning, rooms are comfortable and provide a restful experience. Proximity to the Kudawa entrance to the Sinharaja Forest Reserve makes it possible to even walk to the entrance dispensing with the need to look for transport

This lodge is located in the heart of the rain forest and ideal for a birding trip. Our guide had known the people here and in the area for many years but the other guests were treated with the same care that we were. The view from our balcony into the forest canopy gave us some amazing views. Walking along the road yielded views of birds that were unrivaled. Our stay here was also a welcome disconnect from US news and social media. The internet connection was iffy at best. The food was delicious and served with care.

As a nature lover and photographer, the location of this hotel is perfect. The staff are all super friendly & helpful, and the food is delicious. It is basic but that adds to its charm. No pool, no WiFi, no TV means that you are forced to relax fully and embrace nature. I would love to return one day.

Wir haben hier eine Nacht verbracht, um im Regenwald zu wandern. Die Unterkunft liegt mit dem Bus ca. 15 Minuten vom Eingang zum Regenwald. Sie ist äußerst einfach. Die Zimmer ein bisschen heruntergekommen und muffig, aber klimatisiert. Das Bad ist sehr einfach, ohne warmes Wasser. Die Einfachheit der Unterkunft wird durch die unglaubliche Freundlichkeit des Personals mehr als ausgeglichen. Es gibt einen offenen Ess- bzw. Aufenthaltsraum. Hier gibt es eine kleine Auswahl an Getränken. Das Essen is klein, aber fein. Für die Wanderung kann man hier Leinenstulpen als Schutz gegen Blutegel erwerben. Außerdem hat man Zugang zum Fluss, in dem man wunderbar baden kann. Für eine Nacht absolut ausreichend!

We want to play Magpie Resort as a group of friends looking to do some bird watching and a rainforest tour. The accomadation is great with Wi-Fi, the rooms are clean and just what you need. The resort owner can organise guides and a 4x4 to take you into the National Park. My one word of advice is the book online because the price on the door is going to be about 40 dollars more than the online price

We had a very enjoyable stay here. Having arrived mid-afternoon, we thought we had missed lunch but, no, we were offered a lovely lunch along with a very warm welcome. The location is near the rainforest park gate (c.1.2km) and it is very tranquil lodge, with a lot of wildlife in and around such as monitor lizard, bats, squirrels and an amazing variety of birdlife. The manager arranged a guide for us to undertake a 7km hike in the rainforest next day, which was tremendous. At the lodge, the food was very good indeed and the service was very attentive. Our room was rather basic, but this is a basic lodge, so all was fine from our perspective. We had AC and a lovely area to sit outside the room with a table and 2 chairs. My Wife and I really enjoyed our stay

This was a terrible experience. The bedcover was blood stained. The toilet leaked into the shower. The room was dirty. Advertised as having hot water but had none. Broken screens on ill fitting windows meant mosquitos in abundance and such like. I was bitten by bed bugs. I would never stay there again. I am a seasoned traveller and been visiting countries like India and such for 40 years.

During our two-night stay, we had a lovely and relaxing time. The hotel's convenient location allowed us to easily explore the Sinharaja Rain Forest. Staff were friendly and helpful, and to top it all off, the food was delicious. One of the highlights of our stay was the beautiful stream located just across the road. It was the perfect spot to take a refreshing dip and unwind. Having stayed here for the second time, I can recommend it to the others. It is an ideal location for nature lovers, as well as anyone seeking a retreat from the city to recharge and unwind.

We stayed in the deluxe rooms, which was very comfortable with AC and hot warer. The hotel is very close to the Sinharaja entrance and also there are lots of birds surrounding the hotel. Food was delicious and enjoyed the natural stream in front of the property. The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Magpie lodge and definitely come again.

The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and nice, overlooking range of mountains. This place is ideal location to relax and bird watching. We had really refreshing experience at nearby natural pool made out of fresh clean water stream from the Sinharaja forest.

Dépaysement total, accueil et personnel formidables ! Cet hôtel prêt de la forêt de Sinharaja est tout simplement l'endroit où aller pour une nuit si vous désirez être dépaysé. Le personnel est super gentil et il y a moyen de vous baigner dans la rivière juste en face

Apparently this lodge is owned by a government minister ( he should be ashamed if this is what he presents to tourists).

Great location close to Sinharaja forest entrance with beautiful scenery. Our room was very clean, and the staff were helpful. We enjoyed a dip in the beautiful stream opposite. Blue Magpie lodge is a good spot for those who love nature and enjoy bird watching.
