The Auldington is a lovely building in nice grounds. My room was clean, with lovely high ceilings and a comfortable (firm) bed. The bath was sensational! Original glass in the windows & lovely views. There were a few things which diminished the quality of my stay, reducing my review to 3 stars. The staff member who checked us in was extremely thorough – racing through everything anyone may ever need to know about staying. Unfortunately, the sheer volume of information he served up made it difficult to take any of it in. He then proceeded to lead us to our room, where he showed me how to open a door (turn the key & push) and then actually entered the room. I found this awkward & a little uncomfortable. There definitely needs to be improvements with some insulating / soundproofing. I could hear people walking on the floor above my room every morning and hear voices, music & spa noise from the rooms around mine in the evenings. The biggest issue I had was with the air-conditioning. It seems as though the building has some kind of multi-head split system in operation, which means that every outflow has to be on the same mode for it to work. I had no air-con & was sweating for 5h on my last night. The view was nice from the front. Location wasn’t bad, but a little out of the way. It is quiet, which is good. There’s a lovely corner café close, which was a bonus for morning coffee. Would I stay again? Not in summer, not in winter (when heating or cooling is required).

James at reception was so helpful when I booked the room and stayed on late for us to arrive. Room was great on ground floor with walk in shower. Would highly recommend n stay there again.

Located in a great location with a spacious room and comfortable surroundings. Convenient to the city and close to dining options.
