伯克利酒店(The Berkeley Hotel)

The doors are so thin with a big glitch underneath. You literally hear everything that happens which makes sleep impossible. We went here for new years eve. On new years day the maid starts vacuuming the hall or adjacent rooms at 8am in the morning. The noise level is the same as if she is vacuuming inside our room. Knowing how thin the doors are, they should really think about this.

I'll make this hotel easy to understand. If you are looking for a standard, modern, regular hotel experience, go to the Marriott down the street. If you want a hotel with a bit more character but is not as recently redone (but everything still works fine and the rooms are clean), this is the hotel for you. Choose wisely. The staff were very nice and helpful.

I'm pretty disappointed to have to 2-star this because the staff was very nice while I was there. They were polite, attentive, and easy to reach. But the hotel itself is just too run down to earn more stars (especially considering that it's priced in roughly the same neighborhood as more modern and high end hotels in the same neighborhood). I honestly don't like to nitpick hotels. For the most part if it's clean, bright, and has modern amenities, I'm perfectly happy. Here, there were worn out spots in the carpeting on the floor, the tub didn't retain water, the TV was roughly 24-36 inches and didn't get many channels, the wake up call system wasn't automated, and they didn't even have glasses in the room. All of these individually are minor annoyances, but they all add up. This wouldn't have bothered me too much except the hotel was pricey (as I mentioned above). They had some interesting historical mementos hanging on the hallway walls, but the markers are worn and scratched. This hotel has a lot of potential and, again, the staff were very nice. But it needs a lot of love to restore it before I'd journey back.

Okay this experience was 10/10. And so was the place! Like absolutely lovely! The one (minor) thing that I wish the rooms had were smart TVs. My mom and I were really hoping to log into our Netflix/Hulu account to stream some good movies,

The car attendant named Yoshua was very nice and helpful. He kept my mom stable and protected while she was maneuvering the cobblestone streets and hilly walkway into the hotel. My mom has balance issues, and Yoshua was very kind and helpful with her.
