城堡酒館酒店(The Castle Tavern)

We went to Richmond for the Easter weekend and kept going in for a drink ( got settled and didn't go anywhere else much) , food is great staff are really friendly and the beer is excellent, we had a really good Friday night in here and we will be going back and staying here next time

What a great place to stay. Beer was nice and staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and spacious. Located right in the centre of town in the market square. We will be back to explore more of the town. A weekend wasn't enough time to see it all.

This little gem of a place is a fantastic place the room was spot on clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much for them . The food was very good . The beer 🍺 was top notch We will definitely be back if we can get booked in that is once everyone else clicks on how good value for money it is .

Do not book unless you go into the pub itself and book. We booked through a Buy a Gift voucher to arrive and be told the old landlord is keeping the money from bookings and they have no record of any bookings so they couldn't honour our booking.

Arrived today having booked to stay 1 night to several guests trying to gain entry to the hotel. It became evident that the hotel was locked up and we were unable to contact the owners by phone. The shop next door informed us that the owners had allegedly gone into receivership/ liquidation and had left the premises on Thursday. This caused many upset people trying to find accommodation at the very last minute. I would strongly recommend that anyone booking or have booked a room to discuss options / refunds if appropriate. Can I also suggest that Tripadvisor notifies is clients accordingly. Many thanks indeed

The outside of the hotel needs painting as it lets down the Market Place. The Bar needs attention. Tking the route to the bedroom involves a journey through boxes of catering essentials and mops and buckets. The back door and banisters are in desperate need of claening. Breakfast was unpleasant. Try somewhere else.

Stayed at the castle tavern for 5 nights from 2nd June 2023. Check in was super friendly Paul showed us to our room called Brewery. Large room super clean and had everything need including extra pillows. Bathroom lovely and clean and included a bath 😍. Bar is lovely and everyone super friendly. Breakfast every morning was fantastic. Huge shout out to Phil the breakfast chef who accommodated my need for well done bacon and burnt toast without question 😋. We were out all day every day but enjoyed coming back each night to friendly faces and one or two beverages 🍺🍷. We will definitely book again next time we are in the area. Called in on the off chance Mother's Day, made to feel very welcome by very friendly staff who said table was available. Ordered Sunday lunch which was beautiful, hot and tasty. Dessert was to die for. Would definitely recommend and hope to return one day to try main menu.

Lovely comfortable room and a fantastic breakfast. The owners and staff all made us feel very welcome and were excellent hosts. The bar serves locally brewed ales that were not only very tasty but also very reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend staying here for a visit to Richmond and the local area. We were going to the Georgian theatre which was just a 5 minute walk away. Thanks for a lovely stay.
