We bought a New Year's dinner at the hotel. The service was very poor. The restaurant administrator is not responsive and professional. The impression of the holiday is spoiled. Although the dinner was a la carte, the staff did not serve drinks and wine, everything was done by the guests themselves.

Walking distance to Coliseum, Piazza de Popolo, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Hop on Hop Off stop, Altar of the Fathers, and the Trestavare neighborhood. 3. Separate bedroom with a separate living area with sofa bed. 4. Microwave to reheat your leftovers. 5. Gorgeous Bathroom with great water pressure. 6. Comfortable bed. 7. Kitchen table with chairs for four. Fully stocked with plates and utensils. 8. Terrace on 1st floor with a decent bar. 9. Breakfast buffet not included with room rate but convenient and plentiful. With advance purchase with room it includes eggs any way you want them with bacon or sausage. Good offering of pastries and cheeses with cold cuts and four types of juices. Coffee Americano is good. Have to ask for refills if you drink more than one tea cup during your meals. 10. Staff. Helpful with getting a taxi. Dining staff offeredgreat service. Cons: 1. Room 303. Noisy. Windows must be closed. Street noise at all hours of the day will keep you up. 2. AC. Not available until summer. April is not considered to be summer. 3. Shower water temp. Fluctuates to scalding every 30 seconds. Must step back from water for about 5 seconds until temperature drops to your initial setting. 4. Staff. Not overly friendly front desk. Asked for 24 hour check out but denied. Asked for 4 pm #latecheckout for 7 pm flight. Gave us until 2 pm. Felt at times that we were bothering them with even normal requests. Like asking for a new wine opener. Instead of giving us one, sent someone up to open our bottle. 5. No acknowledgement of Ambassador status. Maybe staff/management unfamiliar with what that means. Overall, great location. Great amenities and comfortable accommodations for our family of three and it’s Rome! Overall a 4.7 out of 5 according to our 9 year old.

The pros : beautiful building , interesting combination of classical architecture and contemporary furniture and decor. Located close to some of the main sightseeing attractions of Rome. The cons : long wait at reception with only one staff to attend all guests. When you happen to want to ask a question when a family just arrived for check in , arm yourself with patience. Our request for late check out was flatly denied, little recognition for the lifetime platinum status. The steps in the hotel make it difficult to move around with heavy suitcases.

I chose this hotel based on many positive reviews from many platforms. And I experienced all of the positive reviews. And for the first time I would recommend hotel to my friends and families/relatives. The two rooms were the best : the view, size and amenities. To my surprise, the minibar provided as complimentary. Breakfast : the best breakfast I ever had after more than 30 years traveling for both leisures/family and business trips in Indonesia, Asia and Europe. On top of the buffet menus, we were offered breakfast that personalised for our needs/tastes. Now, two weeks after we left the hotel, my wife and daughter keep telling me about to comeback again to Rome just because this hotel …. All the staffs were helpful and almost excellent. Keep the good work guys, as this hotel’s experiences were the oasis in many disappointments about Rome. One small note : It was a little bit difficult for me to find this hotel, and taking up two large luggage up to the hotel lobby was a little struggle

The hotel itself is great - rooms are spacious and very clean. Access to everything walking distance. Restaurant staff was extremely service full and friendly. My only complaint was the hotel counter staff will not honor any of the Marriott membership benefits and do whatever they can to raise your rate. We were charged $400 more than our reservation rate for a 4 nights stay. The checkout attendant was not friendly at all and really should not be working in service - he put the only sour moment into what is a very good hotel.

The Palazzo Velabro is a newly renovated hotel in the center area of Rome just behind the Forum and Palatine Hill area, just a few blocks from the Colosseum and directly next to Arch of Janus. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, fully stocked with luxurious bedding, full sized toiletries, robes, slippers, Nespresso Coffee, and in our case, a family apartment with kitchen and sleeping sofa. The staff is beyond wonderful and went above and beyond to give us area information, call taxis to and from airport or when we had early morning guided tours to Vatican (you can walk, we just chose taxi), and to ensure our comfort. There is a restaurant in the hotel that is understated in decor, but has the most talented chef I have encountered in years (and I’m no stranger to Italy or Europe). We enjoyed 3 exceptional meals there (one in our room when we checked in at 2200/10 PM) and had fabulous service. The food and prices were better in the hotel restaurant than in comparable locations in town to include Trastevere. The pasta is hand made in house, and so is the most delicious, crusty, salty focaccia I’ve ever sampled. The hotel and restaurant are immaculate and quiet. The rooms are soundproofed and modern with lighted closets, marble, and beautiful rain showers. The price for our 2 bedroom 2 King, Sofa sleeper and Kitchen suite was so low I thought there was a mistake. The other hotels with similar accommodations were 2-3x times the expense, but in noisy areas further from the Ancient ruins part of the city. The price may go up as the hotel becomes more established. Also, I realized during our stay that the reviews we read prior to our reservations were years old. This is explained by the fact that the hotel has new management and has been under renovations for 3 years. My family was only the second set of guests for their grand opening last week of March 2023. Finally, for the first time ever, I wasn’t ready to leave vacation and return to my own home and bed. The hotel is that good. To the staff of Palazzo Velabro and it’s Ristorante….Thank you for your attentive and thoughtful service, your kindness, and the happiness you brought our family during our 5 nights in Rome. Posizione ottima praticamente perfetta x il resto voto negativo, si sentono troppi rumori esterni, l’ hotel è in una via trafficata le camere superiori sono migliori, colazione con offerta scarsa, sono rimasto deluso si può trovare a quei prezzi alti molto meglio
