斯特隆羅斯特旅館(The Stronlossit Inn)

My third time here in three years, for solo hillwalking trips. It's got friendly staff, good standards of accommodation and catering, and the right location - that's why I keep coming back. It's also got something that many other places don't have: charm. I've had great conversations with staff, locals, and travellers at the inn - do try to have a chat to the people you meet there! It's not an easy time for the hospitality sector in rural Scotland, and travel also means finding out more about the places you visit. That includes the beautiful scenery, but also the people who live, work and travel there.

Room was fine but shower flooded bathroom because screen was too easily nudged out of position. Wifi did not work. Breakfast - luke warm small piece of smoked haddock with one poached egg (menu said eggs) - no dairy free spread availble Only offered dinner time of 6.30pm in the Inn. No real attempt to accommodate dietary needs and no modification to dishes offered so it was vegan or nothing - decided not to stay

Very nicely clean, well decorated and comfortable room. Excellent shower. Lighting could do with improvement. The room is lit by what appears to be early low energy bulbs and most of them worked!. However the result is dismal. We also ate at the hotel that evening. The restaurant fills up quickly and frankly is pricey for what it is. £15.95 for a beef burger is a bit much. Additionally the vegetarian options are a bit sp**** and the soup type differed from the menu. The waiting staff are efficient and helpful, as is the manager. All said it is a nice place to stay

This was our closest pub to the Bunroy Campsite. Seemed popular to us. We sat outside 2 nights, and inside once. The inn leans towards food, so inside seating for the bar is limited, more for people waiting for a free table for food. However the staff are very friendly & never make you feel unwanted. I drank the local craft beer Glen Spean Snowgoose, (£4.40 a pint) recommended by the bar man, and my Husband drank the belhaven saltire (£4.40 per pint) Which is cheaper than the other pub in the village. Both beers were very well kept.

I can definitely understand why there are so many bad reviews and sadly it comes down to the attitude of one person, who I assume is the manager. Lots of people have commented on this man as having a European accent so I believe it is the same person being referred to. It’s a shame really as the food was actually super enjoyable and I have to make note of the lovely waitress who bless her, whilst looking fairly stressed; kept a huge smile on her face and was always pleasant regardless. I felt sorry for her as the “manager” didn’t seem to have much interest in doing more than standing behind the bar staring at everyone... So I must stress that she was brilliant and deserves her own great review! The place is very comfortable but decor very outdated/ could do with a revamp! But cosy place to sit. There is a flaw with the car park where it’s situated as cars pull up in the bays right in front of the restaurant windows and headlights are blinding! A shame, I guess there’s not much of a way around this... Food was lovely, very enjoyable. I’d like to suggest smaller onion rings with the burger though as I couldn’t eat them, they were huge and double size of the burger 😂 just a suggestion! All in all, I would eat there again... food great , but not much else I can say really! It does the job! Just a massive shame about the guy running the show, very unpleasant. I even tipped him £5 after I paid for the meal. I handed it to him and he didn’t even say thanks!! It was more for the lovely waitress who I really hope got a cut of it! Very irritating, especially as I don’t have much money as it is with today’s prices. I tipped to be kind, understanding times are hard and I never got any gratitude. So I felt pretty disheartened by that. Thank you to the young girl for making sure we had a nice time! Appreciate it. So sorry I don’t know her name! Smiley with long brown hair

Wir waren auf einem Roadtrip durch Schottland drei Nächte hier. Unser Zimmer lag im Souterrain und war kalt und ohne WLAN Empfang. Sehr großzügige Zimmer. Mitarbeiter sehr zuvorkommend und nett. Die Bar und das Restaurant sind top. Außerdem habe ich hier mein Lieblingsbier entdeckt. ;)

Staff at check in were friendly, the room wasn’t serviced in the three days we were there but then we realised this was probably COVID restrictions although this wasn’t explained at check in. Our room was enormous and well furnished with a view over the duck pond and surrounding countryside. The restaurant staff were over stretched with only one waitress at dinner and breakfast. We personally felt the dinner menu was overpriced for the type of food on offer. However if you want to travel, at Fort William there is a fab Indian overlooking the Loch and an amazing seafood restaurant overlooking Loch Leven

Lovely place to stay with everything to hand in the hotel; bar, beer garden, restaurant and well laid out garden with walks. Room was well appointed although small. Didn’t particularly like the beer but that is a matter of taste.

Really lovely place to stay overnight good food too. Would have been happy to say for a longer visit if time allowed
