Great location, however some minor issues with our stay. Our room was quite noisy and we could hear other guests from our room at night. Water pressure in the shower was very low and the hair dryer was broken. Wasn’t the worst experience just not worth the money we paid.

Une très belle étape à Rye. Accueil chaleureux, chambre très confortable, un petit déjeuner anglais et gourmand dans un lieu super agréable. Et on est dans Rye au pied de la Mermaid street. Parking public payant à proximité et de belles randonnées à faire vers la mer également en plus de visiter la ville, le tout au départ de l'auberge.

Just commenting on the wonderful landlady / owner? Despite her.bar rea being closed she more than happily gave a drink, invited us to sit on the lovely outdoor upstairs terrace. She then even looked up about a bus ride into Winchelsea . Literally could not have been more helpful. I hope you get to read this - thank you so very much!!

This hotel is a gem!! The rooms are beautiful, large and comfortable. The breakfast is superb. And the staff is so friendly, helpful and charming. They also serve lunches, coffees and ice cream in the café downstairs. I recommend their delicious crab sandwiches! I would very much like to visit this hotel again and will recommend it to everyone!

Oh my goodness! If you love scallops May I heartily recommend you head to The Old Borough Arms for a bacon and scallop bap. It totally exceeded my expectations, and I’ll be back for more soon. Plus they are lovely people and in a great location.

I had the pleasure of working here for 5 years. Everyone I worked with was super friendly. The workplace is very supportive, like a family. The owners (Sarah & Ian) are quick to offer support to any of the staff or customers; insuring all needs are met. This beautiful hotel is a lovely place to stay, and a perfect cafe stop for a hot chocolate and homemade scotch egg. This is also the only place my mum will go for her mochas, she says it’s the best coffee in rye! If thinking of staying OR working here, I would highly recommend.

Perfect location in the heart of Rye for exploring the cobbled streets. The Old Borough Arms is a fantastic place to stay with generous rooms and helpful and attentive team. We stayed with our son in mid-January and the room was warm with the most comfortable bed! Will stay again and can't wait to have an ice cream once it warms up a bit.

Warm welcome, extremely comfortable bed and very good value for a family room. Best scrambled eggs for breakfast - lots of other things on the menu too. The location is perfect, beautiful cobble stoned streets to explore right at the doorstep.

Lovely friendly greeting. Very nice room - comfy bed for us and another single for our son with plenty of space. Lovely bathroom and all very clean. Great location in the centre of Rye (but still quiet at night) and great breakfast. Thank you!

Was walking around looking for somewhere to have breakfast this morning and was spoilt for choice, stumbled across this little gem and my god am i glad we did. Absolutely outstanding, the best cooked breakfast I've had in a long time! Will definitely return on our next visit to Rye.

Absolutely wonderful hotel - really lovely features including the old walls of Rye! Staff all very hospitable. Breakfast at their on-site cafe was perfect, Rosalind was a brilliant host. Will definitely stay here again, the room had everything I needed and was very comfortable. Thanks to all xx

Centrally located at the bottom of mermaid street, this cosy BnB was great for a weekend break. A tasty breakfast was included because we booked directly and the hotel provided a travel cot for our toddler. There is a staircase to get up to the rooms. No car park but there are lots of car parks nearby.

I booked the old borough arms for two nights for a birthday surprise for my husband. We used to visit rye regularly but haven’t done for twenty years so I thought it would be lovely to rediscover rye together. Well I definitely booked the perfect hotel to stay in,everyone was so friendly and welcoming it felt like we were already friends. Our bedroom was wonderful and clean and fresh and had everything in it that we could want. When I booked I booked directly with them so our breakfasts were complimentary,the choice of food left you wanting for nothing and it was all absolutely delicious . We loved it and it made our stay perfect and we will definitely be back .

This is the perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Rye! Me and my friend stayed for a few days from London (so easy to get to on the train) and despite having the smallest room because we booked last minute, it was a lovely cosy double that had plenty of space for the two of us. Sarah the owner was fab, friendly and accommodating, she helped us plan a scenic walking route to Hastings that had great views of the coast. The hotel sits above a great cafe with oven fresh pastries, breakfast rolls, and coffee. 10/10 would definitely recommend, such great value for money and everyone in Rye was so friendly! Perfect if you want a nice place to visit near a beach with friends💕
